That I may be an easy-going person most of the time, but I will do whatever it takes to protect my children.

That I need more patience!

That snuggling in bed reading 'The Ratbridge Chronicles' to a spellbound 10 year old, and a sleepy 8 year old is better than a bottle of vodka in a great nightclub!

That I have more lentil weaving tendencies than I realised (even if I don't actually give into them as much as I'd like).

That 18 months after your child is born, 'Mummy' is the most beautiful word.

2 year later,on a bad day, it is enough to make your heart sink.

That you can live in fear of someone elses bowels.

That not only do I have a temper, but that it's a really foul one! I didn't even think that I had one before children. oops

3sEnough....I so know what you mean there....must be the magic number 3 you know, lol!
But also agree with Flamesparrow about having more lentiil weaving tendencies then I ever though I had 9well, or develloped them over the years, lol)!
And yes I wish for much much more patience then I have, but at other times I do surprise myself with the patience I do have....that one probably doesn't make much sense!
It also told me just how much I can love another person, and that I am indeed able to love another person more then life itself!
It also taught me just how lil clue I had before having KIds, and sincerely apologise to all my friends that had Kids before me, for ever feeling I had the right to comment on their parenting abilities...I now undertand their reaction so much better, either the pitying, you haven't got a clue look or that they were a bit snappy and furious! I now so know what you all mean, lol!
That I can survive on lil sleep!

That I would give my life for them.
That you can love a child but hate their behaviour at times.
That I am selfish I knew this before but thought I could supress it.
That I could not imagine life now without them yet if I had never had them I would not have missed being a mother.
That sometimes my heart wants to burst with pride when I see how they are growing into such confident well adjusted people.
I feel humbled in their implicit love for me inspite of my faults.
The intensity of a love that would cause me to destroy anything that brought them harm.
That being a mother is the most complicated difficult job a woman will ever have and it is for always.

Pruni at you not being valued as a child

I have a lot more love for other people since I've had children too - it has made me calm down a lot. I lead a totally mad life beforehand.

It's also made me realise I'm not a terribly great parent - I love my children but I really don't think I was cut out to be a mother.

That while glottal stops don't bother me in theory, I don't want my children employing them.

And that having children is a great excuse to watch crap TV on a Saturday evening.

Interesting pruni, that's definitely one thing that I struggle with hugely as a mother; I really value my own space and company sometimes and children are just always there (bless 'em).

Also didn't realise how bad a temper I had

that I am not very good at it fulltime - I have less patience and a worse temper now than I had pre-children. I sometimes just can't handle being sat on etc - and need my personal space. Somehow 3 kids, a DH, and a dog all want too much of me at the same time - and I just need to escaoe for a bit.

Also - how lovely they look when they are alseep, how delightful their laugh's are, how proud you are of their little triumphs. And how frustrating it is when they won't try.

Very mixed experience.
