how old is my baby?!

I know it sounds like the most ridiculous question ever but I'm confused working it out. I took her to get weighed today and the health visitor said she's 6 and a half months but when I looked up how many months is in 32 weeks it says it's nearer to 8 months. I tried working backwards from how long she has left until she's one but that's obviously only in week's, I know there aren't 4 weeks in every month so how do you work out how many months old a baby is? I accept if I'm being a total idiot and people give me sarcastic answers

For months I'd count from the month they were born so 6 months ago being 31st January?

So if she was born on 14th December I just count to the 14th of each month?

14th of December would be 7 and a half months.

Dd2 is 6 months which is 26 weeks. I thought from 6 months it was just months that were counted and not weeks so 29th august mine will be 7 months, 29th sept 8 months etc.

Yes just count by calendar months rather than weeks.

I think your HV has missed a month by accident, that's all.

I would only count age in weeks up to 26 weeks which is exactly 6 months. Although TBH I used to count it in months anyway, it's easier to work out to just count december-jan-feb-march-etc.

Thanks for all the replies, I felt like an idiot asking but when HV said 6 months I was confused still suffering severe baby brain I think

Just go by the date and month, not weeks!
