Potentially a stupid question about babies and worms....

90% of the time when I change DS's nappy I will find long threads that look like single strand of hair. I always detect it when I'm applying the sudocreme and I can feel it getting twisted around my finger tips.

I have Googled about threadworms but the websites all say that the worms are only typically 1-2cm long, whereas these strands I'm finding are much longer, probably around 10cm.

Part of me wonders whether they are threads of my own hair that are in the nappy from when I put it on but that's ridiculous, I know.

I'm just confused.

Does anyone have any thoughts or similar experiences??

I'd be 99% certain that they're your own hairs fallen in when you changed him

Yeah, it may well just be hair. My hair falls out a LOT, so much so that I'm amazed I'm not actually bald, and it's always ending up in DS's nappy somehow!

(I'm pretty sure that he ate the big bit of grass I found in there this morning all by himself, though...oops...)

I found banana's caused a similar thing, so when weaning I panicked a few times. Thread worms are small and thicker than hair/thread and usually wiggle. Horrible little buggers, my DS had them once and the whole family had to be treated. I can deal with all things that kids throw at me, but I have to say worms and nits are my two all time worse things. Only had to deal with worms so far!

How many weeks/months postpartum are you? Your hair hasn't been falling out in pregnancy and starts shedding a lot more once you've given birth, so they're probably getting everywhere!
