4.5 month old feeding to sleep

Ever since my dd turned 4 months she's regressed in the sleep department-that is will not go to sleep unless she feeds to sleep (or sometimes with movement like in the car or bouncy chair). I'm worried she's getting into a bad habit which I won't be able to break-any advice? Should I just go with the flow and hope as she gets older she'll be happy to go to sleep by herself?

I have a 4 month old who is going through the same stage!!

Prior to this he would happily lie in his Crib and self settle himself off to sleep but for the last week he has absolutely screamed the place down if he is placed in it and will now only go to sleep if I'm feeding him.

I'm holding on to the hope that these phase will pass and in the meantime I'm just going with it Grin

There is a sleep regression at 4 months due to developmental stage (DS2 is now 21 weeks and has been through it) when it all goes a bit haywire; will settle down in a few weeks, don't panic! Go with the flow - 'twil pass and she will settle alone in time.

Ok thanks for advice. I definitely noticed the end of the growth spurt fussiness when she's awake during the day so I was thinking the sleep thing would be better by now too. I guess I'm a bit premature! For now I think we'll have to continue to bounce her to sleep in her chair if she's not already asleep by feeding!

Hi, I fed ds to sleep (for night wakings too) until he was 10-11 months old when it stopped working. He'd have a feed but still be awake, so I started putting him in the cot awake & sat with him till he fell asleep. Now at 15 months he self settles quite easily & usually sleeps all night. He was the worst sleeper ever, waking every 45 minutes at one point & taking hours to settle back down, only to be awake again 40 minutes later. Once he discovered food & started eating lots in the daytime he naturally stopped waking for feeds at night & eventually slept! It does happen eventually.
