Its 2pm it's the first day and I could murder ds. In, out, in, out...... He keeps disappearing and I've no idea where he is. He wants to do everything now for 5 minutes then it's boring. He's like a whirlwind. I've got 2 tents out, his bike, his scooter and then he went to off to a neighbours house to play with her grandchild and other kids. She's a childminder I hope she's not going to charge me!! He's hungry all the time but only for rubbish.

He hasn't stopped since 6 am. He's 6 years old. I need Valium Wink

I think MN should form a holiday support group section for the next two months. The Scottish lot could start it, and those with children in private schools could plan the farewell party. There are a lot of you out there. Smile

We always went on holiday the first week as a child. Mainly to get away before the English schools break up but also as it helps to burn off that crazy first week energy. When we got back from a week camping or whatever it was easier to settle into a school holidays routine. I plan to do the same when my ds starts school.

I just started a thread in chat moaning about how much attention my older two are expecting and I have a 12 week baby too!

I'm Scotland so in week four and my patience is wearing thin!

It gets better when you're on the count down to term starting. Scotland here too, nearly half way there :-):-):-):-):-) I am feeling guilty this time as the kids are having to entertain themselves a lot as the 8 wk old twins are taking up a lot of my time.

I find the first few days awful. All 3 squabbling, bored, unable to entertain themselves etc.

They gradually find their feet, rediscover their toys, remember how to chill and enjoy themselves and so on.

Then the last week they get bored again!
