How to manage last few weeks of pregnancy with toddler??

Have DS aged 2 and about 7 weeks of pregnancy left. DS is gorgeous but you know... 2!

I have SPD and am getting very little sleep. Starting to wonder how I'm going to get through the next few weeks and feeling guilty as know I should be making the most of the remaining time he's an only child.

I'm. Just. So. Tired....

Any ideas?!

I started a thread about this about a week ago. The unanimous answer was CBEEBIES. And accept any and all help offered.

I seem to remember going to every group I could. Whilst it was an effort to get out of the house, once I was there DS was kept occupied and used up energy, whilst I could sit down and relax while the other mums who had been there/done that were happy to get me tea and play with DS.

Oh I missed the other thread! Oops Grin
Groups sound good in theory but no car, SPD and longish walks to most!

Favourite movie EVERY afternoon. You curl up and sleep at one end of sofa, DS curls up at the other.
Did this with DD when heavily pregnant with DS. Carried it on after he was born when both he and I would sleep whilst DD watched Nemo again. Didn't see the middle or end of the film for months Halloween Smile

God, it's so hard, I feel for you! I agree, TV is the answer. Then get induced as soon as you can if baby is late!!

We've made a lot of cakes but I'm not sure they're doing my giant bum any good...

Oh you have my sympathy!

I had spd badly. Ds was 2.10 when dd was born and i went 13 days overdue. It was a genuinely dark time in my life that i still feel very uneasy just thinking about (dd is 5.5m). It's hell. Waking very hour in pain, can't pick up toddler, or walk or stand for long or sit on the floor or drive.

You're doing AMAZINGLY just getting through the day.

CBeebies, Disney movies, a kids table and chairs pushed up to the sofa so you can do jigsaws and puzzles, if funds allow an ipad with loads of toddler apps, chocolate and cake for both of you. Encourage independent play and ensure drinks and snacks are accessible to him without your help.

Lower your expectations massively.

The only good thing is that by the time dd arrived DS was already used to me not being there on tap and pretty much sofa bound so he didn't get a shock when DD arrived!

Good luck.

You have my sympathy Flowers

My top tip is a bath, run a big bath, bubbles, toys, make yourself a drink then stick the toddler in and sit and have drink and MN whilst they play. Makes the bedtime routine easier too because they are clean so just straight into PJs.

That's genius - he'd stay in the bath all day if he could!

Cbeebies and toast
One day I had the crazy idea that I would take ds to the fire engine museum in Sheffield, about 20 ish miles away. DH and MN talked me out of it. Which is just as well, as that us when dd decided to arrive. FiL would have loved to have had a Sheffield born dgc though.
