9 month old and milk feeds

DS has been sleeping through. He started waking recently but would either self settle or just need a cuddle and repositioning in his cot.

Until last night. He woke at 3, and screamed til after 5. I tried calpol and milk and then Anbesol for his teeth which eventually worked.

Today, he has been reluctant to eat any food - refused pretty much all but a couple of spoons til tea time but has had loads of extran milk in place of missed meals.

Went to bed as normal and hasn't seemed particularly out of sorts for the day.

Woke at 3.20 crying again so have calpol and Anbesol and put back down. He carried on crying so made him some milk again which he took 5oz.

Is it normal to go back to night feeds after months without??

Yes, is totally normal. Could be teeth, could be a growth spurt, could be fighting an infection, could be any number of things. Just when you think you have got them in some sort of routine, something goes and changes.

I have just admitted on another thread that ds1 didn't sleep through until he was nearly three, so you might not want to take my word on this one Grin (am a co-sleeping hippy type who only ever opened one eye to feed during the night, so night waking didn't bother me much).

9 months is very little. Don't worry, he will be back on track after a while.
