Can anyone give me any advice on how to get my daughter to eat, she has recently been diagnosed with having an attachment disorder, which was caused by her father not caring for her when she was a baby and in his care and was told that this is the cause of her eating problems. But for the last 3 months she has barely eaten despite getting help from school nurses and attempting to get help from doctors with their only advice being make meal times rigid!! She is currently so constipated she is physically in pain when needing the toilet and has been given medicine from the doctor to help her go. She is eating next to nothing now and has no energy whatsoever and every time i offer her food even if it is something she has asked for she won't eat and i really don't know what to do to help her. She has also been referred to a paediatrician but we now have to wait for an appointment and i'm not sure how long it is going to take and even if we can wait that long.

Maybe try and get the constipation sorted out first? I know if I've ever been constipated I literally can't bear to eat a thing!! Is she drinking plenty?
Is there anything that she particularly likes ie chocolate buttons, ice lollies that you could start off on to get her used to eating and then gradually introduce healthier foods?
