This is my first day on my own with both dcs since dd2 arrived. I had 5 hours sleep last night, haven't showered yet today and cant leave the house because of c-section. Dd1 is refusing to nap and dd2 is refusing to be put down and I REALLY need a poo which I know will be agony because I have piles still from pregnancy Blush

Waaaaaaaaa!!!!!

oh bless you, have a Brew and a Biscuit (in the sense of an actual biscuit, naturally!)

Of course, you know it will get easier, but that doesn't help you today, does it Grin

Put DD2 down and go to the loo! She'll cry but she'll live. And DD1 can zonk in front of Cbeebies for once. Put the kettle on and breathe. The first days are scary but soon get much much easier. Honest! (I have 2 year old and 3 month old)

that's it really, TV and somewhere safe for the baby, cot, bouncy chair etc - you will feel so much better and more together if you can be showered and dressed etc. Can you manage to do that before your DP/DH goes to work maybe? It is a bit overwhelming but don't stress out too much about using tv, quiet reading to the older one etc when you need to, and do something more fun with them when the little one is asleep. Is the older one going to nursery or pre-school at all?

Dd2 did eventually let me put her down to sleep and she slept for 3 hours so we had quite a nice afternoon in the end. Dd1 slobbed in from of Mr Tumble while I had a shower and some friends came to restore sanity!

Thanks for entertaining my moan :)
