Hi all, hope you all had a lovely Mothers Day. I was on my way home from the parkwith the bairns today and a strange thing happened. A little girl that dd briefly knew from her ex dancing class saw her and we began to chat. She invited dd to her house, but I said no cos I have never met the parents and dont know their ways iykwim. Anyway, to cut a long story short, this girl asked if she could come to ours. I said she must ask her parents and this is what she said... Oh, mams told me to go out and play cos she wants to go to sleep, she lets me go where I want .... She had a bad car crash you know, the cars really smashed up. Shes in trouble with the police cos the was drink driving... Shes an alcoholic you know, I call her a vodka holic cos thats what she likes to drink. I casually ask if she drinks vodka lots if she likes it so much. She says, Yeah all the time, but not on Thursdays when we see her. We came to her for mothers day but she is still drinking. This little girls was only 8 yo and my heart is breaking for her.:( Assuming she was telling the truth, but it seems a bit much for a child to make up. It just shows, you never really know what is happening on your doorstep do you?

How awful poor little girl. It makes you realise how lucky we are and also how lucky our children are to have us. You can't even imagine how people end up like that.
