Hi

I wasn't being rude and I know you just asked a simple question but it's a bit like asking 'which is best bfeeding or bottle feeding?' re-uable vs cloth nappies is a pretty emotive subject for some reason.

It seems to me that it bring out all the 'aren't I great because I cook all meals from scratch/bfeed for 5 years/use cloth nappies etc. Hence my agreement that it was all a bit smug.

The thread had very few people who use disposable partly because they tend to be people to use them for convenience but the 'reuable brigade' are pretty evangelical on the whole. I have no problem with reusable nappies and can see that many people love them but you won't get many people saying 'I use disposables because I can't be a*d washing cloth ones - not unless they are very brave anyway (though there were a few brave souls on the thread).

That is because we are made to feel bad parents for doing so depite any 'well obviously each to their own type but ...' dislaimers given.

oh right i see what you mean - there were a lot more cloth posters than disposable ones, but i did really just want to get an equal view of both sides but it turned out pretty one sided.
