... How do I console her??
I don't know the parents that well - DD and friend have got deeply friendly through playgroup.
I have swopped e-mail addresses with her mum so that they can sort of keep in touch...
I'm sure she'll be fine in a couple of weeks but she's just " really, really going to miss her mummy" and " nothing will be the same"
So over to you MNetters .. any advice?

Nothing other than she will get over it pretty quickly - they generally do at that age.

DS1 was at nursery with a boy he was good friends with - it was X this, X that, we did blah blah blah. They went to different primary schools and we ever heard about him again!!

Actually, that is lovely that she has become so attached to her friend. I don't think many children make terribly close friends at this age, I think it's an achievement for your daughter to have done so.

Thanks for that - it IS lovely and that's why I'm finding it hard to help her .... She'll be ok and she does have other friends ... but this little girl is very special to her !!
