Drives me insane. I warn them beforehand NOT to ask for ANYTHING while we go round, but they conveniently seem to forget. I never buy them whatever they ask for in the hope that they will finally give up pestering me.

Mine is quite good, but then he always went everywhere with me ever since he was a baby so is quite used to be exposed to temptation all the time...

It got a bit embarrassing once when he was prob about 2 and a bit, my mum came over and wanted to buy him something and he kept on putting things back!! so used to me saying no! that he couldnt bring himself to actually buy anything!!

I felt a bit rotten, but we were really skint... so he wasnt used to the concept of actually taking things back home!! I had to kneel down and explain that really granny was going to BUY something for him!!

He's now 6 yo. These days the financial situation is much better, but he'll accept the first no without any problems... he doesn't really want that much stuff anyway... took him around a shop with a friend before Xmas to get pressies ideas. His mate wanted everything in the shop... He didnt, he looked at everything... But then just said naahh I would just like some lego star wars then some flowers for mummy!!!

WharfRat love the idea of dd1's geeky packed lunch. Do her sandwiches wear glasses?

Yep, my DS1 (aged 10) can be a real pain in the supermarket nagging me to fill the trolley with junk food he has seen on the telly.

The only way out is not to take him.

I do a lot of shopping on line now - much less aggro.

the small tesco we use has videos, cds, few ps games and if my ds 11 comes with me he nags. i ignore or speak loudly and make him look a pratt which normally shuts him up
