i heard pampers, huggies, sainsburys and tescos ones all leak or have the problem of letting the smell of wee out. i want to know if anyone has had any of these problems with morrisons, asda, superdrug or boots nappies?

All disposibles leak.

Go for cloth.

You know you want to Wink

I would add too, it is very easy for boys to get their hands down the front of disposables, pull their willy upwards, then pee out of the top - partic. when a bit older. Can't do that in a washable!

boots and huggies nappies are exactly the same, am sure i read somewhere they are made by same people i used both and never had a problem

I have a DD and found that pampers leaked - especially when explosive - as did ASDA - never had a leak with Huggies unless coming to end of one size and time to move up

apparently there are 2 brands of morrisons ones. someone who used the cheaper tendercare ones said they weren't very good but couldn't tell me about the other type, so if anyone has had leaks with those too speak up and also the (material not plastic) superdrug and somerfield ones as i don't know anyone who has tried these.

i think it very much depends on the child...

some people swear by some barnds where as others find the same nappy leaks every time!

I have never been impressed with Huggies. I found that the tapes often cut into DS when he had a heavy nappy & they tended to leak when used overnight.
I liked pampers active fit best.

I agree with blueteddy,

pampers active fit are the best disposable ive used, i also found Dds sleepsuit wet over night when using huggies, it wasnt that they leak, but the wee seemed to seep through the whole of the nappy.

swear by tescos nappies - they are fab - you have to find what is best for your baby.

Never got on with pampers, huggies are brill but cost wise, tescos win every time.

sainsburys are ok for during the day but crap at night.

asda were ok when small but Jess is a liquid monster and they couldnt contain her wee!

Have always used Huggies with my two. However MIL buys in nappies and buys Pampers (because that's what DN wears) and both DH and I find them to be horrible plasticky things.

So far with DS I've tried huggies newborn, pampers newborn, and sainsbury's... all horrible leaky things. Tots bots definately the best Grin Go for cloth!

Different babies need different nappies surely

depends on the baby not so much the sex. With dd and ds I swore by huggies. With the dts I have to use pampers. I've never got on with shops own nappies though.

Always got on really well with Tesco's (the ones in the purple packaging). Used them for DD and now for DS, and they've been great. In fact (bad, bad mummy alertSad) I forgot to change DS's nappy on Saturday, so he wore the same one he'd been wearing overnight all the following day until about 4pm when he pooed in it ShockBlush. And it hadn't leaked at all.

I also swear by Tesco's nappies.
They are nearly £2 cheaper than Pampers active fit and you get more in the packet.

have used pampers from day one for dd, had the odd leaky one but thats about it.

I have always used Pampers Active Fit for during the day and Pampers Dry for the night sleep (keeps in more liquid so no leaking) Lately the active fits are not fitting so well so I tried the Pampers Pull Up's which my wee one managed to poop out of nearly everytime...so tried Huggies - both pull ups & normal and he also leaked and pooped through both of them plus he also got a nappy rash for the very first time from using Huggies To make a long story short...now using Tesco's for during day (they are fab) and still using the Pampers dry for the night. IMO Pampers absorb more than Huggies do and are also more stretchy so they cut less..not too mention pampers have never brought out a rash in my wee one...mmmmhh I should get paid in diapers from Pampers for this post

I would try different brands and see which one suits you best...write to the different makers and ask for samples...they are always happy to try and make you a customer

I work in a nursery as well as having DD so as you can imagine we get to see hundreds off different makes of nappy! I've found that most makes are alright, except the cheap cheap savers ones, these are very plasticy, dont soak up much and also lets the smell of wee out! I only use Pampers baby dry for DD but thats cos im a bit of a snob Blush Tried huggies but they gave her nappy rash, as did the huggies pure wipes! Now use panpers sensitive all the way! Plus, pampers nappies have lots of different pictures on! Quite sad really but thats my bit of excitment each day, seeing what picture its gonna be!!!! Blush

We use Tesco's here every bit as good as Pampers I have found.

I used to use cloth but have given up as I was changing DD1s clothes up to 3 times a day, tried everything boosted tots, bumble, MEOs, fuzzi bunz but she is a wee monster, very sad as hate disposables cloth so much nicer but when DD2 came along the washing and drying was too much Sad

I use Motherease washable cloth nappies during the day and a disposable at night or when ds goes to baby sitter (not often).
I love Huggies nappies, never had a problem at all, no leaks at night. Also adore their baby wipes - especially for wiping poo! SITMI! Much thicker!
Dont like Pampers as they arent stretchy enough around the legs and I detest the silly flowerey pattern on the bum lol!
Have tried tesco nappies and they are good value for money, but dont shop at tesco that often.

Wondered - has anyone tried the really cheap 'basic' nappies that supermarkets do?

With DS we tend to use Asda's nappies and have never had a problem with them.

Occasionally use Tesco's and TBH find them slightly easier to fit - think the tapes are a bit more stretchy.

Used Pampers with DD - they were fine, but obviously more expensive and no better than the others in my opinion.

Hate Huggies though - had to use them when DS was in hospital following an operation - thought they were useless.

There was a thread a while ago, where someone said the LIDL nappies were good, but we haven't tried them yet.
