Getting them to wear hoods/hats

DD1, age 2.5, flat out refuses to wear any head covering. Well, she's been ill lately w/a chest infection, and really needs to have her head covered.

Any tips or tricks?

tell her she will get poorly again if she doesn't wear it - she is old enough to understand. What about a jacket with a hood on?

you cpuld try and fnd one of those hats with the scarf on the end attacjed to it, so you could effectively 'tie' the hat on using the scarf round the neck!

I tell mine she'll turn into an ice cube if she doesn't wear it. She finds that hysterically funny, and it works - god knows why! Mind you, she's only just 2. Also found one thats soft, not scritchy, and covers her ears - if it wasn't comfortable, no amount of jokes would work.

She's coming along, Eilbean, thanks for asking . DD2 I took along to the surgery today, just to make sure she's okay - she's had a chesty cough since Sat. GP gave her a thorough examination, but she's not off her feeds or sleep or got a temp so we're assuming for now it's just the cold she's got.

DD1 did let me put her hood on her today as we were leaving the surgery, however. She's still a bit pale and weak, so we'll keep her home from Tumble Tots tomorrow as she's still on her antibiotics.

Although the cough is definitely getting better, think I'm going to keep her home until it's completely gone, b/c she had just gotten over one cough when FIL came round w/the chest cold.

Now to get some weight back on her - she did NOT need to lose weight!

Phew, I'm so glad she's better! Felt sad reading your posts about her before. Hope she enjoys being fattened up, I know my dd would

Fingers crossed dd2 is protected by your antibodies, and stays ok.

Thank goodness for MN trick, eh. Hope you're getting some rest now your mind is more at ease, don't know if you need fattening up or not but it all sounded soooo stressful!
