school reunion venues needed

I've been asked to organise a school reunion in London could be anything frm 20 to 50 people (we went to school up North but lots have settled down here). Looking for somewhere central so people can get home easily - preferably a private room and not too expensive - say set meal of £25 ish?

All suggestions welcome. It's not til Oct but have to get it in school newsletter by May

Try the mumsnet London meet-up thread - we looked into private dining rooms on there. IIRC correctly though, they were a little more expensive than that.

Vinopolis is very nice

You're right they are too pricey - thinking pizza express prices realy - any thoughts?

Cl, I think some Cafe Unos have private rooms, or maybe Cafe Rouge might? If not, you could always try a big pub with a big room upstairs that could suit the purpose.

If it can wait til after Saturday hopefully there will be lots of recommendations here for Bacchanalia! That's pretty central and it sounds great, not too pricy either.

I think Kettners in Romily (sp?) St in Soho have a private room. They are a Pizza Express, but a glam one with a champagne bar attached...the menu is the same as Pizza Express though.

I know Kettners it is a very old champagne bar indeed, but www didnt konw their was a Pizza Express now.

What about Browns in Covent Garden, quite reasonable and they have a private room?

Tried Kettners and they seemed a bit pricey for what they were offering, so looked up pizza express online and have provisionally booked a room at their Mayfair branch for November! Thanks for all suggestions and have a fab time on Saturday. PS Browns was a good suggestion. MAy contact them for future ref.

Cl, Browns food is really great too, they have lots of choice and it is really excellently cooked. 40 of us went there for xmas dinner for works do, food was excellent, hot (and all served together IFYKWIM) and served by very good waiters who didn't mind us staying at the table all night, and continued to bring us drinks all night too
