Next week is my anniversary and i'd love to buy my husband some cycling leggings as I know he wants some for the cold weather. He commutes to work and currently wears padded shorts - brand Madison. My questions are: If i buy him the bib leggings suitable for winter should i buy padded or unpadded, would he be able to wear his usual padded shorts under the bib tights or not? Also any ideas which are better the over shoulder ones or waist ones? I don't really want to spend more than £60.

padded, he won't want to wear shorts underneath as well. Does he very much like bib shorts? (we all hate them). So waist ones if you must.

Bib tights are like marmite, you either like them or you don't so you either need to somehow ask him or just go for ordinary leggings.

How would you feel about giving him a voucher for his fave bike shop with the condition that it is to be used for winter leggings? I find it difficult to buy for DH as he is so specific about what he wants and it usually involves 2 or 3 orders and lots of returns til he gets a pair he's happy with!

As an aside, my best winter leggings are from Aldi of all places!
