Hi, not sure if this is the correct section but I am freaking out with nerves. I'm best man for my friend and I haven't prepared a speech and I'm not sure whether to or not. Any opinions? Thanks in advance

Definitely prepare. Just some key 'who to thanks/toast' notes would do, but ideally words to remind you of funny stories. Oh, and if you're not naturally funny, go with your strengths: are you heartfelt? Emotional? Straight talking? Use it.
Tell the crowd how you met the groom, relate how he met the bride (esp if a story that involves you), and say how happy they make each other.
You'll be great.

Yes - prepare as per Humpty's guidelines. And ensure that your intake of alcohol is minimal till after the speech has been made!
