Any ideas for Sunday Dinner, the oven's not working?

Has anyone got any good recipes for sunday dinner? The hob and grill work, but there's just no power in the oven. It took me 1½hrs to cook a pizza last week!

What about a stir fry with noodles and veg? And meat if you want. Soy sauce, ginger, garlic and honey makes a nice marinade for a stir fry.

Or Thai curry - buy a Thai curry paste, (green for milder, red for hotter, I like the Barts spices ones), cook the chicken gently on the hob and then add coconut milk and the paste and fresh basil if you can. With rice. Or pasta. Or chilli con carne or spaghetti bolognase - oooh, I've come over all 70's

Our oven broke on Christmas Day last year so I can sympathise. We ended up boiling the turkey ho ho. It tasted pretty good.
How about poaching a whole chicken in a light stock (takes about an hour) and serving with a huge mound of garlicky cheesy mash and a bowl of peas?
For pudding you could have stewed rhubarb with cinammon and greek yoghurt.
(ie this is what I've bought for tomorrow & I'm thinking what I'd do if ours broke again)

Thanks everyone, we decided on Fajitas in the end, nice and easy. Dh and dd are eating theirs as I type. Ds just wanted plain chicken so I kept some to one side.

Keep them coming, I'll need something else for next sunday.

Me too, I'll live at anybody's as long as I don't have to cook.
