Hello
I would be really interested in hearing from people who live in Daventry or Market Harborough.
My OH has been relocated to Coventry and we have been trying to find somewhere nice to live within a convenient commuting time.
We both like Daventry & Market H (amongst a few other areas) and are really struggling to decide between the two.

If you live in Daventry or Market H please let us know your thoughts on the areas. We have read up on schools and Market H seems to be the better place for schools.

Any advice is really appreciated.
Thank you

I know mh. Is it not quite far to Coventry? Are you working?

Look at Kenilworth, Leamington spa, lutterworth, dunchurch & bilton in rugby.

Northampton villages eg West Haddon
Solihull

I don't know daventry.

I wouldn't go for Daventry itself - it's a pit of poison not a great town (Lived/worked there 20 years) and the town schools are all going through difficult times. The villages surrounding Daventry are lovely, however, with good schools. Welton, Kilsby, Staverton, etc.
Do not know MH, though.

Market Harborough is on a direct line to London St Pancras, the shopping is very market town with a few small hardware shops, as well as clothes and half decent supermarkets, good road links too.

Daventry is on the arse-end of nowhere, you might be better off looking at Rugby tbh

I'd avoid Daventry, to be honest. MH is nice but a long commute, even when they've finished sorting out Catthorpe.

For Rugby, I personally find Dunchurch over rated (the house prices are ridiculous and the school situation unfair), and Bilton (south end, not New Bilton) is ok. Hillmorton can be in places.

I would love to live in Yelvertoft, West Haddon, Churchover, Swinford, Shawell, Stretton-upon-Dunsmore, Pailton, Wolston, Church Lawford, actually almost any village between Rugby and Coventry, especially those on the Fosse Way.

Thank you very much for your opinions and suggestions. Will take a look at some of the places mentioned tonight - a few I hadn't looked at.
Thanks very much!

Market H is not too far from where my OH will be based - it was within the max commuting time x

Nothing useful to add really but smiling as we used to live in Long Lawford (near Rugby) and rejected Markey Harborough/Daventry when we were looking...

Just one thing to mention but the traffic is awful as rush hour heading into coventry along the A45/46 so please do a dry run at that time before picking somewhere 45 minutes away - it will take a lot longer.

When DH and I were working in Coventry we lived in Warwick. Short commute and a really lovely town. I've also lived in MH and commuted to Northampton. Nice town but quite a trek from Coventry (and awful traffic!) and I found that it isn't particularly easy to get anywhere from MH.

Avoid Daventry!

I second Kenilworth, Leamington, Warwick.
