Me and OH was talking about Christmas last night, and I said I can't wait to 'host' Christmas day myself, and spend it in my own house. This year is our last one as little 3 unit family and I'm going to look like a stuffed Turkey at 7 months pregnant!

On Christmas eve, I'll usually work till midday, then we go to my parents to exchange and open presents, Christmas eve dinner, chilling out with a film on and playing with DD New toys. It's like an early Christmas day, and it saves lugging so many gifts to and from on Christmas day. Then we go home, DD has new pj's and we usually watch another film, leave Santa out a drink - Santa is a fan of brandy, a carrot and mince pie. We leave rain deer food and the magic key on the door step.

Christmas morning and Santa has left gifts from him and the elves in dd's bedroom, we spend the morning with Christmas songs, a cooked breakfast, cuppa tea and present opening with the three of us, before heading over to my parents again with the rest of the family.

Boxing day again is like another Christmas day spent with all the in-laws at their house.

So what do you guys do? I'd love to spend Christmas day with just us 3, but I just think it'll be a pretty lonely thing to do and I know the family will have a moan.. lol

You may find you get more response if you post on the Christmas board

Last year was our dd's first Xmas and we spent it just the 3 of us- we did see family in the morning to swap present but the rest if the day was just us. It was lovely very quiet and less hectic we weren't rushing around for once! It was nice
