I'm so thick, I can't do this!
Basically, DD is British, aged six, parents are both British, needs a first passport.

Got two photos
Got a suitable counter signatory

Do I or do I not need to send her birth certificate??

I have included both mine and her dad's passport numbers. Is that all they need?

I have been reading the guidance notes for an hour and can't understand if Ido need to send birth certificate or not.

I'm so thick.

I am sure you have to send the child's original birth certificate

I doubt you're thick, but yes, afaik you need her FULL birth certificate - not just the short one, saying when and where she was born, but the A4 one saying who her parents are too. This will have been available to purchase when you registered her in the first place, and presumably can also be bought, from the registry office, retrospectively.

Your counter-signatory will probably also be contacted, perhaps at work, to confirm what they have said, i believe. Good luck. It's a pain jumping through these administrative hoops!
