Help!

Have recently seperated from husband, have a 5yr old.. When ex has taken her out and returns her home she gets so upset and won't let him go.. We have both explained it is not her fault and mummy and daddy aren't going anywhere but doesn't make any difference.. Any ideas? So difficult, do I bring her in crying and upset or have him stay and settle her? Any ideas?
