Changing Nurseries... had a mix up with end dates!

I initially put it in writing to his current Nursery that his last day would be Thurday 28th July. But when they wrote confirming things the letter said that with a months notice that would take him to Thursday 4th Aug. So I moved the start date of his new Nursery to Monday 8th Aug.

Anyway DH collected him yesterday and ds came home from Nursery with a Good Bye card signed by everyone! They were convinced that was his last day!

I phoned today, but the Manager wasn't there. I explained to the girl and she said "Oh well I'll get xxxx to phone you back to confirm whether its ok for xxxx to come in next week"!!!!!

WTF???? I'm paying for those 2 days next week (Mon,Thur), but might not be able to put ds into Nursery?? Surely not?

Advice welcome. I'm waiting for the Manager to phone me.

if you have it in writing from them that his end date is the 4th then I think that they should honour that, but they are obviously taking your initial letter as your wishes - did you send another letter stating the 4th at all?

Hope the manager phones back soon and you get it all sorted out.

No I didn't Zubb. I just told them one day when I was collecting him. But I assumed that since I'm paying for his space he should still have the space.

If you told them then it should be OK, and like you say as you are paying you should have the space.
