Anyone use one for an under 3? How do they compare with private nurseries (aside from price?!).

TIA

Hi J!

Sue from NCT has got her dd2 into one, so she might be an intersting person to talk to.

I have a brochure for the one in town. It works on a points system to qualify for a space and you might only get a short session (2.5 hours a day).

Do they exist elsewhere? I've never heard of them before now...

Ja9 - My ds was in a Private Nursery, but it ran in conjuntion with the Council. It was actually meant for children of Council Employees, but there were extra spaces too. He started there at 18wks and he LOVED it. Unfortunately it shut down in October last year and have been unable to find another. The only difference was the price though. It was £3 a day cheaper than the one I had to move ds to.

The only council nurseries that take babies I have experience of in Scotland are social work ran ones. Is this the kind you are meaning?
