Settling in to nursery

For the past 2 weeks on tues and thurs mornings
I have been taking my 14month old son to nursery with the aim being for him to do 2 full mornings a week. So far he hasn't settled. Unless he gets 100% attention from a member of staff he cries(he's very firstborn!). Any ideas on how to help him settle. I really want this to work as his little brother is due in 3 months

Any nursery should let you stay as long as you feel necessary, and all the ones I've worked and the one DS went to, let me do up to 6 visits staying with him.

14 months is young, but you can do it, by building up his trust about you coming back. Can you just do very small amounts of time at first, 5 mins then return, then ten mins and return, building it up as he feels confident?

I will say, having seeing it from the nurserys POV there are so many kids that play up and cry "don't leave me mummy!" ten minutes later they are happy and off playing!!From a mums point of view, its heart wrenching!
