I am so upset. Last month this nursery was inspected and they went from being graded as Good with marks of Outstanding to now Under Special Measures with 17 recommendations. The manager has walked out along with staff and the area manager is now incharge. There was a big meeting to warn us parents but now the Ofsted report has been published there was alot this nursery did not tell us they failed because staff were of low quality, not all of the staff have CRB, bad hygiene, children's toys inadequate, children can wander into the kitchen, not following the EYFS, bad manager, children and babies were crying and not being comforted, child given food that they were not allowed to have, daily registers not being kept.

I wished I never registered there but my child has settled so what do I do???

Move.

The Area Manager or the company should have known that the nursery was terrible. Did they not realise or not care? And are the people who didn't know or care the best people to improve it?

The sector would improve if every child was just pulled out of failed nurseries. The nurseries would the triple their efforts to not let it happen if they knew it was a choice of be good or go out of business.

is your dc happy and settled?
are you happy with the care your dc receives?

if you have doubts about it I would move, but if you/dc are still happy and the nursery still caters well to your dc's needs would stay.

only you can answer those questions for you.

Move because at the end of the day they failed with their safe guarding and you don't want your child to get hurt or injured. I have read their ofsted report and it's awful. What's worse is they are part of a huge chain and they should have received support.

Move. It will take some time for all those areas to be improved, staff recruited, nursery re-inspected etc. I would not be happy for my child to be in a nursery while this process was taking place.

Definitely move. There are truly good nurseries out there. The pain of settling again is nothing in comparison to the potential for upset/possibly unsafe situations/lack if focussing on children in your current nursery.

Unless there has been a complete miscarriage if justice (which is possible under the current Ofsted regime) but from the sound of things that isn't the case.

The fact that this nursery failed on safeguarding alone is a big red flag. I would definitely move based on that. There is no excuse for not crb checking staff.

On the other points, it would concern me that if they were like this when ofsted inspectors were there, what are they like when there aren't?
