why do nurseries re register?

Owner change, some of the chain nurseries in particular have been changing owner recently.

The regulator does now let you search for old registrations at the address, so sometimes that can reveal complaints made against them.

If it is a nursery you are using, then ask them. I would expect them to be telling parents about changes in ownership, changes in registration.

A change of ownership is the most common reason.

That doesn't really mean anything if there's a sinister reason for the change. They may be pre-empting a serious complaint, or expecting a poor report.

It's much more likely that they've had a change of ownership or something like that.

It's last ofsted was outstanding so can't think it would be to hide anything?

Genuine change of circumstances.

Or to make it harder to find reports on what it was like before the re-registration, as it might not occur to people to look for reports of a 'different' nursery at the same address.

Which you think it is will depend on how cynical you are. And how extensive the differences between the old and new ownership/management.

Just that really, looked on ofsted website and it has been registered last month but I know has been going for years?
