Montesorri nursery?

Any of you with children in a Montesorri?

That does help christie, he is such a bright spark. he is not even 9 months, walking crawling and has a 6 word vocab. I play with him all day and go out as often as I can but I think he is bored.

All nurseries, whether Montessori or not, should be encouraging/enabling children to gain independence at snack and mealtimes, it is something that OFSTED look for during inspections. In addition children should have access to drinking water at all times, hence the table with a child friendly jug and cups.

We have a snack table at our non - Montessori nursery and children prepare their own fruit and salad veg for snacks under supervision. At lunchtimes vegetables are put onto the table in serving dishes and children help themselves with tongs.

DD1 goes to a Montessori nursery three mornings a week, she absolutely loves it. They do engcourage independance, in both eating, and choice of activity, but also in things like going to the toilet (I have had to ask them several times to stick to taking her every hour or so as I am currently potty training).
She also gets homework form them too (which is optional), but dd1 likes doing it, why not go along to a session and sit in to see if ti would be any good for your little boy.
Ours also organises trips to places like the local fire station etc. as I said dd1 loves it and wakes every monring demanding to go to nursery.....

my dd started about 3mths ago, shes 3 and a half and initailly hesitant naturally but now really likes it and i am amazed at how her memory absorbs so much stuff. lovely place and teacher, i am glad i chose it over a plagroup closer and cheaper to me.

DS went to a Montessori nursery and we were v pleased with it. He had a great time there.
