Well success this morning! Didn't mention nursery at any point and we got out the door fine. and btw we got to nursery he left me with a big smile on his face...hoorah! smile

hmmm thanks IsItMeOr. I think that's a good idea. It could work with Thomas the Tank dvd that he's addicted to. Will try. smile

3.8yo DS has been going for more than a year, and still never wants to go.

He also doesn't seem to like it much when there.

However, we do seem to have cracked getting him there in the morning. We have a routine of get dressed, have breakfast, brush teeth, watch TV if there is time, shoes and coat on, go - in pushchair if needs be.

He is reminded during the morning routine if he's dragging heels at any point that he will only have time for TV if he gets moving. So he can have up to half an hour, but will be less if he faffs about. If your DS loves his cbeebies as much as mine does, it's worth a try.

thanks! will try not telling him tomorrow morning to see if it makes a difference. smile

I don't tell my 2.5 daughter where we are going. Just get her up and dressed in her room straight away, then "ooh shall we get the bus, or walk or go in the car today?" She goes 3 days so am sure knows what is happening, but it is a lot easier to get out of the house this way.

How do I stop my DS from crying/being upset/angry when I take him to nursery on a monday morning? FYI he's been going since he was 6 months old, it's 4 days a week and he's now 2.5. I think it's because he's had a lovely weekend and he just doesn't want to go. I know he will be fine once he's there, I am not worried about that.

I always tell him at least half an hour before we have to leave to prepare him but he starts getting upset even when I change him out of his PJ's.

So then when we actually have to leave and I am trying to get him ready for nursery, he just cries and gets angry angry and won't let me put his coat on etc so I get angry and stressed and I end up shouting at him: "stop crying, we go EVERYDAAAAAAAAAAY". Then by the time we get to nursery he's all sad and quiet and I am racked with guilt for shouting. Same thing almost every morning. I feel really sad that HE is so sad about going sad so it makes me feel even worse that I?ve also shouted at him. What can I do? :-/ sad
