Nurseries in Claygate/Esher

Can anyone recommend a nursery in Claygate/Esher (Surrey) which would take children from around 18months - 3 years just for a couple of mornings a week? We're moving to the area soon, bit of a sudden decision and I don't know anything about childcare options in the local area. The only ones I can find by searching online appear to only take children after 2.5 which isn't much use as we've already got a pre-school sorted out for then.

Also - am I just going to get told that I should have put DS name down when he was born? I asked one woman today about the group she was looking after at the local park & she just said that the waiting list was 2 years!

Any recommendations or general advice gratefully received!

I was also looking for a nursery in or near Claygate for may 22 month old son. Kids Unlimited in Hinchley Wood has places on Mondays and Fridays, the morning sessions are from 7:30 to 13:00.
West End Playgroup www.westendplaygroup.org.uk/ has places for afternoon sessions but they accept kids from the age of 2.
In regards to pre schools all of them seem to have waiting lists.
For now I just take my son to various playgroups:
Cheeky Monkeys in Hinchley Wood Mon-Fri anytime
Claygate Village Hall, Tuesday 10:00
Toddlers Praise in Common Road, Claygate Wednesday 10:00
Sure Start in Community Centre Claygate Thursday 9:30

Thanks Vilia, that's really helpful, I hadn't thought of looking at Hinchley Wood. With the playgroups, are they all mothers with kids or do any dads go? I work 4 days a week, so DH has DS for most of the week but he's too scared to go to playgroups with him in case it's all women & they might think he's odd!

Hello there! A friend of mine has 2 daughters who go to the Horse Shoe day Nursery in Esher and she can't speak highly enough about it.
Also, try the website kidzcare compare as they list all the nurseries and pre-schools in your local area?
Good Luck!

l8000r - thanks, that's good to hear about the horseshoe day nursery - they were the only ones I found that would take the under 2's, but I was a bit put off by the location as the traffic on that road is awful, but I will go & have a look at them again now. Thank you for the website recommendation too, I'll take a look at it.
