tell me how nursery voucher scheme works please

ds will be 3 in september

his current nursery is 23 a day

Your LEA will be able to advise mroe preciely but it works out as something like 2 1/2 hours per session , 5 sessions a week, termtime only, should be free, but they may cap the maximum cost. Nursery claim it from LEA and either deduct it from fees as you go or give it retrospectively per term.

oh and it only starts the term after they trun 3 so you may not get it until January

Yup LIZS is absolutely right. Just wanted to add that the 5 qualifying sessions don't have to be over 5 days. DS does tues/weds and thurs am and as that's 5 sessions for the week he gets the full entitlement. If your child does less than this you get a pro rata, e.g a child doing all day monday only gets 2 x 2.5 hrs sessions a week funded iyswim.

Do you get vouchers/info in the post or does the nursery sort it all?

Nursery supplies the paperwork and returns it to LEA for you.
