Think Ds may not get a place should i look elsewhere ?

Ds has had his name down at local private (but on school site nursery) since june last year.

Usually by now we have had a letter asking us what sesions we would like etc but that didn't happen so I rung this morning to be told that they haven't yet sorted out howe many places are going to be available for Jauary and that they are very short of space but Ds is definatly on the waiting list.

As i said, the nursery is on the school site and both dd's went there and loved it. Since then however the nursery has been exstensivly refurbed and enlarged and now takes alot more children.
I wanted Ds to go for 2 days a week 9-3. He will be entitled to the nursery grant which wouldmean me only paying about £5 for 2 days nursery.

I have a feeling that I now may only be offered sessions which maybe I should be grateful for, but it isn't really what I want.
It would mean me going backwards and forwards several times a day and I don't drive at the mo so a large part of my day would then be made up of walking backwards and frowards to school and nursery.

I'm now not sure what to do. The manager at the nursery said she would let me know as as she could, but hasn't even asked yet what sessions I want.

Should I look for a place elsewhere as a reserve do you think ??

Anyone ??

Everywhere round here seems to be full. Am annoyed now that they have left it so late to tell me he may not have a place.

This is why I put ds name down at 2, the one said they would let me know in Jan, but have a place at the other one to start in Jan.
Your Ds may have a place, they just haven't sent the letters out yet.
If not, then I would be annoyed too

They don't know yet if he has a place, she is still sorting out which children that already attend want extra sessions.

There are no state nurseries nearby although that wouldn't help anyway cos he couldn't start until september.

All the others I've tried either have no spaces or are a bus ride away.

No, school nurseries (both). Not impressed with the private ones around here. The most local one to us had two nursery nurses in court a couple of months ago, for abuse

The one ds is going to is a bus ride away, but then I haven't got any older ones to get to school

Blimey, mind you I remember being unimpressed by the private ones when we lived round there and I was looking for Lolly.

I didn't think they could start at school nurseries until next Sept.

Have just found one private one listed on a road i've been up and down 1000's of times, but i've never ever seen it..weird, will have to ring them.

Just rung my friend and she said noty to worry because she's sure he'll get in ................hmmmm i'm not.

Argh.......excuse me whilst i scream.

Have just rung several others, no problem with places but they cost too much even with the 12.5 hours free.
