Slightly concerned as the nits are 90% likely to have come from nursery (DD only child, no regular contact with other children outside nursery etc)
I thought they would have let all parents know so they could check their offsprings hair.
Apparently not - is this normal?
Won't I be continually re infested until they do?

P.S. i heart tea tree

dillydally i find this totally strange behaviour by the nursery. Every nursery i have worked in either sends home a notice or puts one up at the entrance.
I think you are right nits will be in that nursery always if it isnt dealt with properly ....very wierd

They should put up a notice that there is an outbreak, but not say that your dd is the one to have them. Personally if I worked there I'd want them to ask parents to check their kids.

At ds's school they would definitely alert other parents.
Surely they need to know as soon as possible?

That is completely mad. When ds was at nursery they put up a notice every time someone was infected. Similarly, at school they send home a letter each time there is an outbreak in class. Nits are so easily spread that if everyone doesn't have a big combing session, they will just continue to go round and round the nursery for ever!
