We have been asked to find out about the "Little Adventures" you might enjoy / do with or encourage your children to do - a "Little Adventure" means trips out to new places, small adventures in the home (eg den building etc), nature activities etc.

This survey is open to all UK MNers who have at least one child aged 2 to 11 (regardless of how many 'Little Adventures you and your DC do).

Everyone who takes part will be entered into a prize draw where one winner will receive a £150 voucher for the store of their choice.

Another one on the age thing. My children, all different ages, love adventures equally. So, although I ticked the 4-7 box, I would say that children age 3 to 12 all love mini adventures equally.

Maybe an other box on that question would get round it so people could say that if it also applies to them.

Okay, have just re-read the question, and although it's not asking for age now, as my only child I have to say that this is the age when he appreciates little adventures most as this is my only frame of reference iykwim.

Agree with LackaDAISYcal, I think all ages enjoy Little Adventures equally (as there is a wide definition of what this would be). I have selected Don't Know because I thought that was the most applicable, but my real answer is ALL AGES

Completed for son with DS and easy enough to answer all questions except which 3 items would you certainly take. As a direct result of his disability we either have to take his bike attachment, so cycles with Dad, or his Mac major as walks short distances and tires easily. In that list, we'd probably take the lot plus our getting about item, but couldn't word it as to fit it in, so chose other top 3!

Not sure of purpose of data and it may not be what you're looking for....but there's a whole topic of how families have little adventures with a disability in the family. Nationally, surveys show it's harder for these families to have little adventures. Fortunately my DH is blessed with enormous amounts of energy and good ideas and after a busy week on my own with the DCs, he swoops in to help adapt adventures so that we can continue to have them. It would not be so easy on my own.

You possibly didn't need to know all that, but it thought it's interesting to raise...

Agree entirely with perspective. My son has cerebral palsy and we need equipment before we think about other stuff. Without wheelchair, trike, sling we can't do anything! Again very difficult to complete as disability not really being considered but it is the ingle biggest barrier to everything!

Thanks whereonthestair, it's a bit of an odd one as the questions didn't ask about anyone in the family having disabilities but I do think it perhaps should have been included on the grounds that we want including the same as other families. It's not that anyone says we can't, just there are bigger barriers for us to sort, before the adventures can begin and that's important for everyone to consider, including all companies involved anywhere along the line. Our access to days out etc should be the same (I'm not saying MN doesn't think that too!) but would have been more inclusive to have spared a thought to how it works for a whole range of families.

A teeny tiny example, I arrived at the Trafford Centre with my son, in his Mac major and found that the ground level accessible toilets were out of order, it would have been a considerable effort to get to the others.

As it was quiet, I used a quiet area in the big run of toilets but I had to take him out of the buggy and wedge him in the cubicle with me. I couldn't change his pull up for him, I kept it a short visit!!

Done. The age thing was tricky- which age does your child enjoy little adventures best. All three have, whatever their age because the activity has been tailored to their ages.
