We're working with a company who want to know more about the impact that having children can sometimes have on parents' careers. They're interested in hearing your opinions and experiences of having a family and working.

This survey is open to all UK MNers who have at least one child and were working before they had children. It doesn't matter whether you are currently in paid work or not, we'd still love to hear from you.

Click here to complete the survey.

Everyone who completes the survey and adds their email address at the end will be entered into a prize draw where one MNer will win a £200 Love2Shop voucher.

Thanks and good luck!

Children's age range says "under one" then "two" with no category for one-year-olds.

Apart from that no problems. Better questions than I'm used to on the subject!

Done. Q17 is worded ambiguously, by the way.

Done although there's no category for my child's age -18 months.

There's nothing in there about working from home - I had to put that my working pattern hadn't changed since I'm still FT but now I work from home one day a week.

Thanks to everyone who has filled in the survey so far :)

We've now changed the children's age range to include one-year-olds and we've included an option for working from home. MrsBungle, HoratiaDrelincourt and AnnaLegovah - I'll PM all of you shortly about editing your responses to reflect these changes.

If anyone else would like to edit their responses to reflect the changes, please PM me :)

i found it hard to answer the 'identity' question with regard to work as it really so depends on the quality of that work. of course a purposeful job with good colleagues, appreciation and tangible results etc boosts a person and has a positive impact on their identity but then again a negative, stressful environment with no support and a lot of blame and tension has a negative effect and leaves people exhausted and having little left to bring to parenting and therefore a negative impact of their sense of identity as a parent.

Done. All these ask about numbers of children and ages. I hope they don't think I'm lying as I have to state 4 kids but 3 ages due to having twins. There is never a place to explain this Grin

argh. I don't remember putting dc's ages in - just number of dc. If I've missed it then they please could you add them in - they're 8 & 5. Thanks!

I also thought the level of work question was quite tricky to answer - the way the levels were listed (senior managerial, junior managerial, etc) made it look like it was a scale but clerical and professional were ranked together and they encompass a vast range - say from a doctor, lawyer or civil engineer at a senior level through to those doing the filing or data entry... It seems odd to want to specify between senior and junior managers and then lump these two together, and not even want to distinguish senior and junior professionals.
