Since BIWI started the low-carb Bootcamp, interest amongst Mumsnetters has been consistently high. Over 400 of you have taken part so far ? and that's not counting all those who are lurking at the back and haven't quite dared yet to put their name on the weight loss spreadsheet!

We'd like to make Bootcamp even better from here on in, and would really value the opinions of all of you who have tried or completed it - if you have please complete a short survey here. Actually even the opinions and impressions of Bootcamp amongst those of you who haven't yet been lured in are welcome Grin.

There's a £50 voucher to be won by anyone who completes the survey and adds their details at the end.

If you've just seen something about the camp but not yet taken part please share any thoughts you have about it on this thread.

Thanks
MNHQ

It's life changing!!

I lurked... But spoke to biwi on the c25k threads ( also life changing)

Lost 4 stone 4 pounds so far

And the words 'boot camp' inspired me to join a real life exercise boot camp where I'm now part of their running club as well as the workouts.

I'm 3 dress sizes down now

Wow, HSS - that's fantastic! I had no idea you had lost so much!

Done - definitely life-changing. And a huge challenge to the modern 'healthy eating' advice

Done! I agree life changing.

And I'm very sorry, but I said someone should check the low carb recipes on MN and check they are all low carb... and someone has already done that since last time I looked!!! I'm very sorry, please feel free to ignore that comment...

Lost a stone and a half but I have also completely changed the way i view food and approach eating. Food is no longer the work of the devil, evil and to be avoided at all costs. it is something to be enjoyed.

Biwi.... Love the colour! Grin

This way of eating clearly suits me. The loss started in November, so it's over 8 months. Still got a little over a stone to go. Have occasionally lapsed but I really cannot imagine eating bread/pasta/rice again regularly. Tastes and feels too sweet and just wrong!

Oooh goodness! Look at me - I appear to have the same colour as an invited web chat guest! Grin

Hi, done.

The only reason I said I wouldn't be interested in Mumsnet Academy courses is because I live in the north of Scotland and travel to London (where all the academy stuff seems to happen) would be prohibitive just for a course. However, doesn't mean that I disagree with the concept for those who could manage to attend!

Mustard BIWI! Grin

Would it be better to wait until the end of bootcamp to fill this in? It's asking how many weeks we did it for and total amount of weight lost - I won't know that until I've finished!

Just done survey - very interesting.

I forgot to say that one of the hardest things I found was getting my head round the fact that I had to eat FAT. I truly didn't believe it would work, but it did, and it would've worked even better if I'd stuck to it. Smile

Done it here too, started in April 2012 and found it has changed my life. Not just the weight loss but my relationship with my husband. My PMT is non existent and my period pains have all but gone. In addition I have more energy, no afternoon slump and still manage to exercise alotGrin

It was challenging but BIWI made it easy to follow and the support was amazing Grin
ThanksThanks BIWI

It has certainly changed my life too. I have battled with eating issues and skewed attitudes to food for many years which diets perpetuated but this has become a healthy way of eating for me and is helping me develop a healthy attitude to food.

The support I have had from others on the threads (and BIWI of course!) has encouraged me to begin exercising for the first time in over 25 years. Overall I am almost 3 stone down and feel healthier than I have for years

I love the idea of developing things further but it needs to be done so everyone can access it. The Mumsnet Academy courses that have been arranged so far have been in London on a Sunday, so inaccessible to anybody from the North; the first train into London from near us got into Euston an hour after the course started and staying over would make the cost prohibitive.

On a sunday it is impossible. Ffs we don't even have a bus service on a sunday!

I've done the survey. A NCer here who did the new year 2013 bootcamp.

The bootcamp was amazing. I lost 10lbs and I've still kept it all off. It really brought to my attention the whole "carb" debate. It does make sense that manufactured carbs are the devil and not fats. It has changed the way I and my family eat. We do eat carbs but were very mindful of the right balance.

I also forgot to say in the survey that one of the hardest things was eating FAT. It goes against everything you've been taught about 'healthy food'.
It does work, if I'm hungry I often have a small bit of cheese. It satisfies me and I won't need anything else. That's much healthier than a slice of cake or half a packet of biscuits.

I am a qualified doctor and had always been very cynical about low-carbing, however BIWI's Bootcamp, together with the research links/medical evidence provided really changed my mind. I have now been Bootcamping/low-carbing for nearly a year. I have lost a stone and kept it off, I was never really technically overweight, just stubborn pounds that got uglier and flabbier as I got older! I always had to starve to lose weight and I tended to get horribly binge-y and unhealthy.
I have lost my middle-aged spread and am the same weight as when I got married. Bootcamp is easy to follow and after the first week or so you don't feel hungry or deprived...as you can see I am now EVANGELICAL about low-carbing!!!

Survey completed.

I joined BC in January this year- and lost 24lbs in 10-12 weeks.

Summer boot camp hasn't been quite as successful for me, but that's about me and not about the thread!

I'd be interested to see what develops from this survey... Smile
