Well firstly, I would like to thank Kenwood for speedily replacing my damaged/faulty Compact Processor. I was very impressed that another one was dispatched to me.

Secondly, I love the processor. It is a great family appliance and I do not know really what on earth I have been doing living without one! This one in particular is great, as it is compact so I can have it on the side, easily usable and I live in a flat so limited kitchen cupboard space.

I have used it a lot, but currently not finding it ideal for weaning specifically. What I am finding it useful for is family meals, which DS will be eating soon, but also means I can make dinners much quicker which give me more time to get food ready for DS, to prepare the pots/sterilise things and all the other weaning stuff, so it gives me time.

A few issues, the plastic filter belts are not fixed. I guess this is to allow for cleaning but they are awkward and get caught up in the blender jug/mill attachment and i think this is what happened to one of them which resulted in being returned. It was caught in a blade and it cut through it. They often fall off on the mill attachment which makes it all a bit messy.

I would prefer a cover on the sharp knife blade for processor bowl. It is extremely sharp and has to be kept out of the way of DD and in time, DS.

I would prefer a small box/bag to put all the bits and bobs in so they do not go astray.

So far, on the whole though, very impressed indeed.

Pavlov - A good suggestion... to have a little container for bits and bobs. Hadn't thought of that.. but I agree!!

harimo we have such limited space, they are being stored on top of the fridge, the ones we do not use often will get dusty/greasy and the ones we use a lot will get lost without an official 'home' as I found today trying to find that bit to put on the motor before the processor bowl goes on. It was in the cutlery drawer. The blade on top of the cooker hood (easy reach for us without cutting ourselves, away from DD), the rest of it loose on top of the fridge. I will get myself a little box for them, but a nice little kenwood one would have been good, all pretty looking

Oh and when I say 'filter belt' I meant 'seal'. I spent ages trying to find the word. I asked DH and he looked at me like I was crazy. 'what is it called? that ring? that bit that goes on the mill, and the blender, the one that got cut? that plastic/rubber thing, its a filter?'

I do have a 6 month old. I have an excuse.

  • I am so glad you wrote that, cos I have been thinking and thinking 'plastic filter belt'??? What AM i missing??

I have 9MO and 24MO. Chaos reins supreme in the Harimo household!!

have to say, I love the size of it. It's possibly what I like best about the product!!

yes the size and that it is not ugly. Ugly on the side would be not very good.

I also like the fact that the jug is a good solid nice looking that would not look too bad on the table when serving margharitas (i like the measuring jug too, perfect for cocktails adding the right amount of juice/milk for smoothies

the best thing about the compact is the mill attachment, in terms of weaning as I have powdered a ton of normal porridge into baby porridge. Saved a fortune.

Also, great for coffee beans. We use it for that every day! And that is essential to cope with those sleepless nights!

All done - Thanks MN & Kenwood - I'm very pleased with my product.

A box - yes -I mentioned that in the 'functionality' part of the questionnaire. Not strictly to do with functionality of the product I suppose, but wanted to mention it as it's to do with the functionality of my kitchen! Where to store all the bits?! I'm currently on the lookout for a plastic/tupperware box big enough to store all my attachments (on the HB724)so that I can keep it on the shelf or on top of the fridge without them getting all dusty.

Box/storage aside...FAB product
