Dear "What Shall We Do Today?" Tester

Many thanks for being a tester for the Playhouse Disney 'What Shall We Do Today?' web based interactive tool with your child aged 2-5. We hope you are enjoying the website.

Please use this thread to record which activities you've done, your thoughts on the website in general and on the activities.

Playhouse Disney would also love to see any pictures or artwork which resulted from any activities undertaken - you can upload the images onto your MN profile or if you have online storage (ie Photobox/Flickr etc) please post a link so other Mumsnetters can see what you and your child have been doing!

Thanks

MNHQ

DD (4) had just had a quick go.
She liked the music and had a go on the lucky dip it stopped on a Winnie the Pooh shadow game which was fun and got harder with each level.

well, only been on there for 20mins, and so far we are impressed, we have done the hot dog dance

and have looked at 2 of the make videos, telescope and bubble painting, dd is now shouting in my ear bubbles, bubbles, so i have said as soon as we have had tea, we can do a bubble painting if it's not too late.

i do have my camera handy for the results

so far, so good...

can't wait to look around the rest of the site, my inital thoughs on the layout are that i liek they way you can select an area that would are interested in, such as read, make etc

Oooh thank you for choosing us. Dd is already very excited by the website. She's been playing the Donald Duck fishing game. I'm not sure she quite 'got' it but she had fun with it.

Hurray says ds2!
ok we've done 20 mins tonight and he loves it. Takes bloody forever to load at each stage tho, but I guess thats our pc. Its frustrating tho, as he expects it to run as fast as cbeebies!

Donald's Fishing... a big hit, altho it kind of defeated the point cos he wanted to catch the pink ones; its hilarious apparently . I think he would prefer it to be mouse not arrow keys too.

Bug's nature trail.... no patience to listen to which sign to aim for, just wanted to get going! Ther ewas some dodgy overlap with loading, as it kept saying 'press the pen to start' or whatever, even tho we had already started! He also got frustrated when the 'road' disappears if you slip off the screen edges. v cute though, we enjoyed watching the bugs follow the trail.

Goofy's slide... he enjoye this one too, altho I dont think he 100% got the connection between what he created and the character sliding down, because of it being 2d/3d.

Currently colouring in a picture we printed off, he is desperate to take a photo 'to show the lady'.

We did also try the elephant car game, but it took ages to load; he got fed up and went back to bugs!

have been on special agent oso already.
and we like the videos for hot/cold game, making a den, bubble pictures.

there are so many choices but loading was slow tonight here too
it will genuinely be a pleasure to test this!

Our website loaded fairly quickly, we had a quick look before bed ( children really tired) and are looking forward to doing it in the morning. Will update more then.

Just had a quick go and DD2 aged 4 says 'I love it!'

We've tried a Mickey Mouse Club house story adventure which went down very well

We then tried the Special Agent Oso - I was slightly disappointed with the options here but DD2 loved it!

I let dd2 (5) and dd3 (2) have 15 minutes on the website whilst dp cooked tea. Fist impressions were that they love the bright bold colours and the vibrancy. Dd3 spotted Tigger straight away and kept telling me how she loves Tigger best.

Dd2 was pleased to see some new characters she hasn't encountered before ie Handy Manny as wedont have playhouse Disney channel. Dd2 liked the piñata game, at the beginning I thought it was slightly too easy for her but dd3 enjoyed finding the colours or items to go into the piñata, when it came to the adding up part of the game dd2 enjoyed it.

Dd2 also tried the slippery slide game but was a bit unimpressed with it, she much prefered the pinata game and the jungle jam coconut game.

The icons are nice and big and bold making it easy for both the dd's to click on, tommorow I want to let dd3 have a better look and look at the whole site a bit more.
