Thank you for taking part in the testing of NutraSea Kids and NutraSea+D.

Here are the feedback questions for the first stage of the process - there are just three questions. Please post your responses below.

Questions:

Do you/your child find NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D tastes of fish?

Do you tend to add NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your child's/ your food or consume it some other way?

At this stage in the project would you recommend NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your friends?

Many thanks.
MNHQ
Please remember if you have more than one child, you should be trying NutraSea Kids on just one child. The product test will last a total of three months. Everyone who adds their feedback here and after the next two subsequent feedback requests will receive a £10 Holland and Barrett gift voucher as well as entered into a prize draw to win £100 ASOS voucher.

No

No - I assumed the "Very Berry" flavour would negate having to hide it in something else.

At this stage in the project would you recommend NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your friends?

Truthfully, no, both my children hate it - and they have happily consumed Omega 3 supplements since they were 3.

No, don't think it tastes of fish at all. Son said it tasted yummy. Think the flavour of child's NutraSea tastes better than adult version.

No, I just give it to him on a spoon. He knows he's taking vitamins.

Yes,I would recommend it to a friend.

No, he takes it from the spoon, as is.

No, I wouldn't reccomend. He hates it and much prefers the capsules.

Do you/your child find NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D tastes of fish?
Yes - a mild, 'late' fish oil taste.

Do you tend to add NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your child's/ your food or consume it some other way?

No, although they always like to have a drink or some food to have immediately afterwards to take away the taste.

At this stage in the project would you recommend NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your friends?

Depends. It seems that preferences for these oils is very individual. I have to say that my kids have been taking eye-Q (citris) for many years without complaint (although they won't touch the vanilla one ). Neither of them like the Berry NutraSea, and they want to go back to the eye-Q. However I know that some kids despise the Eye-Q and love the Boots Strawberry one (which is vile IMHO).

The problem is, most people won't want to risk forking out £££ on a bottle of something which might be rejected - tiny samples might be a good strategy?

Based on my kids' experience I probably wouldn't recommend the kids one. I might recommend the adult one - it's fairly inoffensive.

Do you/your child find NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D tastes of fish?

I don't, but I don't like the taste. DS is 2 and has never eaten fish so he wouldn't know! He'll take it some days, but not others.

Do you tend to add NutraSea Kids and/or NutraSea+D to your child's/ your food or consume it some other way?

I have mixed DS's into his porridge when he's refused to take it. I take mine from a spoon but need to have something on hand to drink afterwards.

So far, based on how happily ds will take it, I would recommend it to anyone with a child that disliked the taste of other fish oil supplements.

I have been feeding it to both my children (oh dear, didn't read instructions, sorry!). Dd takes her mixed with apple juice (and doesn't like it at ALL) and ds happily glugs it from the spoon (and thinks it tastes delicious!). I take it from the spoon and don't love the oiliness but drink it down just fine.

I think so. I personally prefer to take my fishoil in capsule form.

My boy thinks it tastes nastier (though not necessarily fishier) than his current brand of orange flavour Eskimo kids. But that could be just because he's not really a fan of tutti frutti flavour in anything.

I keep both oilss in the fridge, as colder fish oil seems to go down more easily. I just give it to him on a teaspoon, followed by a drink of water.

My boy is autistic and hyperactive, so at the moment I wouldn't necessarily recommend Nutrasea to others as it has a lower DHA and EPA content per 5 ml than the liquid Eskimo Kids. Since I'm relying on some research which suggests that the bigger the dose of the EPA/DHA, the more proven the effect on children's behaviour/attention span, I would not go for a brand with a lesser content.
