Barny have asked us to find 100 Mumsnetters with a child aged 3 to 6 to try their delicious sponge bears with a hidden centre whilst on a little adventure with your DCs.

Here's what the team at Barny say:
"Here at Barny we want to inspire natural curiosity – whether it's having fun with bugs in the garden, exploring the local park or simply the little discoveries made whilst on an outing we’d love to hear about your little adventures with your family. Barny is a delicious sponge bear with a hidden centre that is available in four yummy flavours - chocolate, milk and now new apple or strawberry. Barny contains no artificial colours or preservatives and is carefully baked with ingredients including wheat flour, milk, eggs and sugar. Individually wrapped for portion control and with a cardboard tray for convenience, Barny is a convenient tasty snack for little adventures! For allergies and ingredients please click here"

If you are interested in taking part you'll be sent two Barny flavours, chocolate and strawberry, to try whilst on a little adventure with your family. Product testers will be required to tell us about their #littleadventures and post any photos to the feedback thread by 7 July. Please note that you don't need to show your child's face if you'd rather not.

Every product tester who adds their thoughts to the feedback thread will be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 leisure voucher which can be redeemed on a wide range of UK restaurants, hotels and holidays - including Haven, Bella Italia, Halfords and Legoland. Closing date for feedback 7 July.

If you'd like to take part please sign up here.

Thanks and good luck,

MNHQ

Can I apply for DNiece and DNephew? They are 5 and always coming round here to steal my cakes and biscuits.

Why is it only 3-6 out of interest? Dd3 is 2.4 and ds2 is 7 and both would love these.

I've completed the sign up form but just realised that Barny could come on holiday with us if we are selected. He would enjoy some little treats then .. I wondered if you could pass the message on to him in the hope he selects us to try him. I've never seen him in any shops local to me. Thank you

DD is too young for the test but they look like the sort of thing she'd like. Are they available in shops now and in which aisle would they be? I've never seen them before but they look great.

So they say: "Barny contains no artificial colours or preservatives and is carefully baked with ingredients including wheat flour, milk, eggs and sugar". So far, so healthy... until I follow my own natural curiosity and read the full list of ingredients which includes unspecified but presumably artificial flavourings and things like polyglycerol esters of fatty acids (otherwise known as E476) etc.

Can I also have a grumble that they are clearly positioning this as a cake for kids, yet the packet only gives you the % GDA in terms of adult intake. Disingenuous, Barny people.

DD just turned 5, and LOVES the chocolate Barnys that nanny gets, I think in Aldi? Or maybe ASDA, I'm not sure.
She also loves adventures so would be a perfect candidate;)
I didn't know the strawberry ones existed, are they new to the market?

My almost 2 year old likes these. Although he prefers the apple ones better! You get them in asda. On the aisle with the kids stuff. Like the little boxes of raisins.

My 3 year old would love this. She is obsessed with Barny bear but has only tried the chocolate ones so far. I need to avoid the cake aisle when we go out because if she sees them, that's it!

Thank you, we received chocolate and strawberry but I bought some apple today too. Looking forward to taking them on an adventure this weekend. Do I have to take the kids?

Report
Sixgeese · 21/06/2014 16:11

We have only tried 1 strawberry so far.....was planning on trying them properly this weekend, taking the children out for some good photos, but they have all come down with the vomiting bug that is going around the school. Best laid plans and all that, the photos will probably end up being Barneys being eaten on the school run now!
