5 - very easy indeed

~ How easy or difficult did you find the content to learn first aid? Please indicate a number between 1 and 5 where 1 is difficult and 5 is very easy.

Very easy, clear and precise

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?

Refresh memory, definately for reassurance, would give me a check list to discuss with A&E or Doctors if needed

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?

Can't think of anything else tbh

  1. Great reference guide for accidents.

  1. Very easy to use - 5.

  1. Very easy points to follow with instructions and pictures. 5.

  1. My family and I all agree that we'll use it to learn (and hope we don't need to use the more serious advice) and for minor injuries. Anything serious would automatically be 999, not spending time faffing around with an app.

  1. I think it's a really good guide to basic first aid and having spent time using the app I really do feel more prepared. I've already used it for minor bumps.

  1. Personally I wouldn't use this section as I feel that is too much personal info to store on my phone, simply in case my phone was lost/stolen.

  1. Absolutely I feel much more confident.

  1. I can't think of anything, I feel the majority of injuries are included. I really like the inclusion of the feberal seizures.

  1. 4/5. Simply as there is always room for improvement. It takes up a lot of space on my phone.

What would be your one line summary of the app?
First Aid information for baby and child

How easy or difficult do you find the app to use?
5 stars - very easy

How easy or difficult did you find the content to learn first aid?
5 stars- Time will tell how much I've remembered when I re test myself.
It's presented very well with great graphics and pics.

How do you think you and other parents would use it?
To learn about first aid prior to an emergency and also in an emergency.

Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?
Nothing I can think of at the moment.

The hospital finder is great and good to know it's there.
I did have to find a hospital when we were on holiday in the UK - this would make it far easier. (Although looking at a map wasn't that hard!)

~ What about the child record section?
I don't think I'd use it, but I can see how it could be useful.

Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?
Most certainly, yes. It's been years since I did a child's first aid course and you feel unsure because things change all the time. It's good to know that it's all there in my phone.

Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?
I tried to think of what I would like to be covered before reading the app in full. It covered everything I expected and more.

~ Overall what star rating would you give the app?
5 stars, definitely.

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?

I enjoyed doing the tests! I would use it as reassurance - my daughter had febrile convulsions recently and although I knew what they were and how to deal with them, I wish I'd had the app just to know that I was doing the right things. DH is a First Aider but I'm not (though I do have medical knowledge having grown up in a medical family) and having guidance at my fingertips is great. I think most parents would use it in the same way.

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?

Nothing springs to mind.

~ What about the child record section? What did you think about this? Is this something you would use? Anything else you’d like to see here?

I found this a bit difficult to use to be honest; I had problems adding my GP contact details. I'd like to be able to add blood group. It would also be good to be able to sync details across devices.

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?

Possibly something to cover car crashes.

What would be your one line summary of the app?
Useful First Aid information that could save lives

How easy or difficult do you find the app to use?
Very easy - no problems navigating whatsoever.

How easy or difficult did you find the content to learn first aid?
The app looks great, I think it would be very easy to administer first aid with the app as a reference... not sure it's committed to memory though!

How do you think you and other parents would use it?
I think it's a useful tool to look at the app every now and then just to learn about potential situations when first aid may be needed. Obviously other parents could use it in an actual emergency if they were unsure about what action to take.

Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?
No. I think the app is very thorough and covers all bases!

What about the child record section?I think this sectionIis very useful. I'd definitely see myself using it, particularly with my little boy.

Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?
Absolutely. Having the information in your hand so clearly and concisely is such a confidence booster. It's so easy to forget the first aid that you've learned in the past - even more so now that I'm getting older! Especially as you only ever need first aid in such extreme circumstances that thankfully for me have been few and far between with my little boy (touch wood)

Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?
I honestly can't think of anything! If I could think of something to add to the learn/emergency sections then I would take the time to mention it - but I have nothing further to add!!! The app covers all bases as far as I'm concerned.

Overall what star rating would you give the app?

5* - It's a fantastic app - up there with Candy Crush Wink (still addicted to that stupid game!) Blush

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?
I would say it is useful as a at to learn and prepare for a situation, I like the fact it tests you on first aid too. I think it will also be useful in a situation where you may need guidance quickly as it is easy to use and locate specific first aud issues!

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?
I think it is a useful section to check before relevant situations. I don't think it requires any other topics.

~ What about the child record section? What did you think about this? Is this something you would use? Anything else you’d like to see here?
I think it is a useful aid if you happened to get injured as well of your child as information would be accessed about the child's allergies etc, the only down side to it is that if anyone was to gain access to your phone I would be slightly concerned if this information was passed on...

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?
I would still be nervous, but I feel I would be more capable of dealing with a situation especially if I had my phone to chck with me!

~ Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?
I think it covers most areas that would be specific to any baby/ child first aid

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?
To learn and refresh, and also following a minor accident. In a life threatening situation I would call 999 - unless i was in a remote place with no phone signal in which case this could be life saving.

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?
I thought this section was not as good as the rest of the ap. i think the section is meant to be about practical steps you can take to reduce the chance of an accident or be prepared. So the stuff about fire alarms was good but there was nothing about child proofing your home. And what to do if you come across a car accident did not fit - would make more sense to have that under emergency?

~ What about the child record section? What did you think about this? Is this something you would use? Anything else you’d like to see here?
I would not use this. My phone is password protected so no one else can access it anyway. Even if it wasn't I can't imagine someone opening this ap and going through it to find next of kin details.

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?
Absolutely. In fact I used it today after my son fell and hit his head.

Can't think of any. Though I thought some of the information on vomiting was not quite right (not sure cooled boiled water is necessary?)

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?

I would consider using this app in an emergency if it had a search engine so you could do a quick search e.g. Banged head. I think I would use it to prepare if we were going away because it has some very useful checklists and simply to update my memory on first aid.

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?

Loved the improvised first aid section, very useful and liked the checklist making sure all basis are covered.

4 - it would be a 5 if there was a search engine and perhaps the testing could be a little longer (just personal preference). My 4 star rating is based on many positives for example the text is bold, reads easily, very informative but in particular it has good cross and external links.

  1. Clearly set out, essential information.

  1. 4 - Just because on a smartphone it's easier to access the headings in landscape, and I use my phone in portrait. But that's being picky.

  1. 5 - Very simple.

  1. I'd use it to prepare, and for minor incidents. In an emergency, I wouldn't be messing around with my phone!

  1. I think it's pretty comprehensive.

  1. This isn't something I'd use, since all my baby's info is in her red book.

  1. Yep. And my husband agrees. We'd be able to give basic 1st aid straight away.

  2. I gave this a 4, quite easy to follow.
  3. I have been browsing through the content when I get a few minutes to myself to brush up on skills I have learnt in the past.
  4. I wouldn't use it in a dire emergency if it meant valuable life-saving minutes were being lost with me faffing around with my phone as the 999 operator would give me instructions.
  5. I wouldn't use the child record section
  6. Downloading the app has def made me feel more confident with having three kids of my own. I would def recommend it.
  7. I agree with 'Summersevern', would like advice with sand etc in eyes.
  8. Overall I would give the app a 5. Absolutely fantastic, everyone should have it as it really could help save a life.

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?

  • I would definitely use this to learn and test, however if I was faced with a real emergency I would be phoning 999, I would not be checking an app. Although if it wasn't critical and I would have time to check the internet anyway I would check the app.

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?

Again I'm not sure I would use this section as I'd be wary about putting my child's records on a phone app for security reasons.

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?

  • yes, I have been looking for a good app for ages and this is great!

~ Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?

  • personally my main worry is chocking and that is covered although maybe something on what to do if a child or baby has drowned and become unconscious as I hear different things on how to deal with water in airways etc. I wouldn't know how to respond to this.

~ Overall what star rating would you give the app? Please say where 1 star = poor and 5 stars = excellent

    *4

Excellent app but room for more information.

~ How do you think you and other parents would use it – to prepare, to learn, to test understanding, in an emergency, as reassurance, etc?
Revise skills, learn new ones (though I'd rather learn in real life so someone checks my technique), possibly;y in an emergency situation - I'm going to keep it on my phone just in case.

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?
Useful section, nothing to add

~ What about the child record section? What did you think about this? Is this something you would use? Anything else you’d like to see here?
Wouldn't use it, don't want my child's medical/personal info on my phone. Not sure when I would use it anyway.

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?
Yes. Useful to revise skills I learned a few years ago.

~ Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?
Not that I can think of, but haven't looked at full content either, seems very comprehensive.

To learn and as reassurance. Probably wouldn't have time in an emergency, but good to know it's there in case

~ Any thoughts you have around the 'Prepare' content – anything else you’d like to see in there?

The prepare section is good to read when you have a spare moment so you know what to do in advance. I can't think of anything else needed in this section.

~ What about the child record section? What did you think about this? Is this something you would use? Anything else you’d like to see here?

I probably wouldn't use this.

~ Has downloading and using the app made you feel more confident about helping a child in a first aid emergency?

Having read up on what to do in certain situations, yes, I feel I am better prepared.

~ Are there any other topics you would like to see covered in the 'Learn' or 'Emergency' sections?

None I can think of.
