We used the Mamia Mini Nappies...

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

They fit perfectly. DS has really chubby legs and other disposable nappies do make him sore around his thighs. We've had no such problem with them. They're very soft too.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

We've tried a lot of supermarket own brands to try and save money and found that a lot of them leak. But these haven't at all. And ds is gifted and talented in the pooing so explosively it hits his hairline and socks simultaneously department.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Well dd (who is 4) opened them so they're probably pretty easy to get into Grin. And the packaging is very bright yellow. Why is it always bright yellow? The nappy contents are always bright yellow too. Perhaps this is why.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The wipes I particularly like. I haven't had the problem with them that I do with others in that the top ones seem dry and the ones in the bottom saturated. And when you pull one out, one comes out unlike Other Brands where the whole pack seamlessly pulls out like a crap magician's trick. The fastening (hard plastic which clicks closed as opposed to peeling back a segment) is much better than on the other wipes we've been using. And actually, yes, we only need to use one or two wipes even on a really blooming awful nappy. Haven't noticed a lot of difference between the normal and sensitive apart from the scent. They smell quite nice. For baby wipes.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Will have a think, but generally no, they're fine as they are. You could change the packaging to green. I like green. I don't like yellow. But I think Other Brands are green aren't they?

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

They are certainly good value and compare pretty well to other own brand disposables.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes. As we shop in Aldi anyway and were happy with them, I suspect we will used them. We use washable nappies probably 75% of the time but always have disposables in the cupboard so will add them to our regular monthly shop.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would because we had absolutely no problems with them. And I particularly liked the wipes. In fact I used them to dust the bookcase this morning. I suspect I'm not the only parent who does this...

I did like them, as much as it is possible to like disposable nappies. I don't like them in the same way I like a good cup of tea and a biscuit or anything or even David Mitchell with a beard (that's a very specific like to be fair) but they were fit for purpose, good value and stopped ds pooing on my best rug. And they're soft. Really soft which surprised me. Nappies often seem a bit scratchy and rub on ds's legs but these were, you know, soft. And they have a picture of a rabbit on them. Everybody likes a smiling cartoon rabbit. Except Elmer Fudd but I have it on good authority that he doesn't shop in Aldi anyway.

DS3 is two years and nine months old. He is trying size 5 junior nappies.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Overall impression very good. I even quite like the little animal pictures on them. They were a good fit and they feel quite nice, not too papery, not too plasticky.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

We use a combination of cloth nappies and disposable nappies. They are far nicer than any 'own-brand' nappy I have tried. On a par with Huggies which are my disposable of choice. (Like Moltex best of all but unprepared to remortgage just to buy nappies). Streets ahead of Pampers which are very plasticky and smell horrid and leak gel everywhere. Not had any gel leaks with these but on at least two occasions, DS3 has complained: "My bum feels sick!" when his nappy is too full (of wee). He has never done this with any other nappy. No leaks, all poo and pee nicely contained.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Packaging was easy to open, inoffensive enough, nothing special. Would prefer it if it was recyclable. I paid about as much attention to the information on the packaging as I do to the information on any nappy packaging (very little).

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The wipes are quite nice. Not as good as washable wipes or Huggies wipes which are more cloth-like, way better than Pampers which just smear poo around. The sensitive ones are nicer as they are fragrance-free. I don't really like the smell of the normal wipes but DS3 does.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The nappies are fine, the packaging could do with being a little less garish and 'busy' - too many different fonts going on. A different baby picture could be a lot more appealing. I like the closing mechanism of the wipes but worry at the waste of packaging material in such a throw-away item.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I think they are good value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I'm unlikely to use these nappies and again as I do not have an Aldi near me.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would recommend both the nappies and the wipes.

Age of Baby: 6 months; Size of Nappy: Midi

Q1 Upon receipt of the nappies, I thought that I had picked up Pampers ? the pantone was exactly the same green they use. They were a good fit (which helps to prevent leaks), of good absorbency (although other brands can give better results) and they are great value for money. I liked them very much.

Q2 No accidents ? they were a good fit and that meant that they were comfortable for my child.

Q3 Again, they looked like Pampers in terms of colouring ? they have used exactly the same pantone. I liked the name ?Mamia? and the imagery on the outer packaging. Unfortunately, the outer packaging rips open easily, meaning that if you pick them up wrongly ? as I did, you end up with a load of nappies on the floor! They then need storing elsewhere.

Q4 I used both wipes and found that, with my child?s sensititive skin, the wipes specifically designed for sensistive skin were best. I liked the packaging and that the pack was resealable. I also liked that the wipes seemed to be a strong material and therefore I didn?t need to use quite as many as I usually do.

Q5 I would improve the strength of outer packaging and the way it opens. The nappies absorbency could be improved although the design is great. The wipes are excellent ? no changes required there. I would like the wipes to be flushable, and the packaging to be recyleable.

Q6. I think that the Mamia nappies and wipes offer exceptionally good value; both are cheaper than other brands on the market. The nappies are substantially cheaper. I also like the fact that there is a range of size appropriate nappies.

Q7 Yes, I will use both the nappies and the wipes again ? simply because I liked the results. However, I would only buy them if I happened to be in Aldi as, unlikely other brands, these are exclusive to their stores; so they have the disadvantage of not being widely available. Although I do find Aldi has a good stock of all products, and would, at that price, be able to ?stock? up on these essential items.

  1. If the conversation of nappies and wipes came up in conversation, I would recommend both products to other mums but I would not particularly push the ?Aldi? brand per se as I know that some of them don?t shop their and they will be, by association, thought of as one and the same. If I was my mother and baby group, I would probably let another mum try a nappy and especially the wipes and let them see the results for themselves.

Tester DD 3 weeks old during testing she weighed between 8lb10 and 9lb9

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
The fitted well. Felt a little 'plasticy'

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
Fit for purpose. No leaks. Good absorbency for urine. Comparable to pampers

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Packaging looks good. Information adequate. Tbh, as a hassled mother of toddler and newborn, I only looked at and could only take in the most basic information anyway. And it was on the packaging, easy to find and easy to read

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Loved the wipes. Good quality, soft and wiped away breastfed poo well. Love the fact that it has a proper lid to keep the wipes moist. Very, very good value at 79p

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Although there were no leaks, I did get the impression that DD's bottom felt moist when changing a wet nappy, something which I never have a problem with with Pampers/Huggies. Her bottom felt almost as it would when changing a cloth nappy. This is not necessarily a negative though and would not impact on my decision to buy them, but I do use a combination of cloth and disposables

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Yes. Very good value for money, particularly the wipes.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I will definitely use the wipes again

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
Yes, I would. They are comparible to the major brands and better than some of the other supermarket own brands I have used in the past

We used the Mamia Mini Nappies...

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
Good quality nappy, smelt ok not too chemically like the well known leading brand. Nice feel, were soft not scratchy, cute bunny on front. Only negative was that they were too small for my 12lb baby girl. We were testing mini size 2 which says upto 13lbs on the packet but they only just fit her and she filled it quickly.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
I didn't test overnight as the nappy was too small to handle big wee, but during the daytime at home seemed fine. Would have been better if I had had a bigger size. I laid it on the pampers nappy I was using at night and it was very very similar in style, fit and feel.
.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

I didn't spot the easy open section to open them as the handle section was in the way but now I can see its there.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Excellent sensitive wipes, liked the plastic close lid, would have liked them to be a bit more moist but they were better than own brand sainsburys ones but not as big as johnsons ones. They came out of the packet smoothly, would use again.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
The nappies are packaged the 'wrong' way up in my head. I'm used to pulling out the thick folded part of the nappy these were packaged the other way so you can pull two out by mistake.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Very good value for money a similar pack size of pampers costs 12p per nappy these are 8p per nappy and they seemed very similar in quality, just 25% cheaper than leading brand.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I do not live near an Aldi so I doubt I would buy them but I would very happily recommend to friends who do. If Aldi was my local store then yes Id buy the nappies and wipes as they are 25% cheaper!

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
Yes, was impressed with both products that I wouldn't previously have looked for.

DS is 2 years and 2 months old and we tested the size 5 junior nappies

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I loved the little pictures all over them and the lion at the front and back.
They were a little loose around the thighs and tight around the tummy.
They felt fine and I was happy to use them on DS.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

They felt very similar to the Sainsburys nappies we usually use on DS, but were thinner - more like a huggies nappy.
They did the job very well in general. The only leak was when DS had a funny tummy but I don't think there is a nappy out there that could have kept that lot in! I was particularly happy with how well they lasted at night.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Very similar to Sainsburys in colour, but much busier with much more text etc on. Not very keen on the baby picture. They were very easy to open.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I did find the plastic lid a bit tricky to open at first, I had to use my fingernails and both hands to get it open, which allowed DS to escape the changing mat. I didn't notice any difference between the two wipes other than a lighter fragrance on the sensitive wipes. They are much thicker and more cloth like than the sainsburys own brand wipes i use normally and I have to use much fewer with every change.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I don't think so, I'm pretty happy with both nappies and wipes.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Yes they are fab value for money. Cheaper than my usual Sainsburys nappies and wipes and much cheaper than the premium brands we use occasionally, but the nappies perform exactly the same. Very happy.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes definitely. There is an Aldi 20 mins walk away and I will be going there during the week to get more nappies for DS.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes, I'd recommend both. They are very good value for a very good product.

DS is 10 months and we tried size 4/4+ Thanks

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
Very good fit, outside is a bit papery but still soft.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
No leaks Grin unlike Huggies which never make it through the night without a leak. Angry

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Easy to open, standard nappy packaging picture etc, nothing spectacular but seriously what do you need? Hmm

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Wipes were good, the sensitive ones didn't have the chemical smell that most perfume free ones have. As good as johnsons and far better than huggies which rip and you always get half the pack come out each time. Angry

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
nothing in particular

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Compared to pampers/huggies they are great value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
If I'm in Aldi I would certainly pick some up. Although I'm not sure I'd make a special trip.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I would definitely recommend. Brew

I was using the Mamia Cumfy Up Pants - DS2 is 20months

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
They fit very well, but felt quite thin and were not very stretchy compared to the pull ups I currently used

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

I found that they were worse than the nappies I currently use as they leak! The leakage was because they fill up very quickly. They are cheaper than the ones I use at the moment, but I would have to change DS so much more often that it would probably end up costing me more.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
The packing was fine.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
I found the nappies smelt very chemically, and felt quite harsh - I would worry about using them on DS who's skin has a tendency to react.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
They just fill up very quickly because they are so thin.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
I don't think they are good value as I think you would end up having to buy many more nappies

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would not use them again because they are so thin, they filled up very quickly and then leaked everywhere. The wipes were too strong (chemically)

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would not recommend the wipes or nappies as I think that they would be a false economy.

I have to admit I had high hopes, I would love to get some cheaper nappies, but having tried them, and having had to change DSs sopping clothes (literally) I will stick with my more expensive nappies that work better.

We used the comfy up pants.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

they fit better than the usual easy up pants i use, they felt soft and very good quality.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

No leaks, my son gets alot of very messy nappies and it normally always leaks a little bit but with the Aldi nappies no problem at all.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Packaging was easy to open the plastic wrapper wasn't as thick as other makes which made it easy to open.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The plastic flap to open was very stiff and was a bit of a battle.
Only difference between the wipes was the normal wipes had a very strong fragrance, i preffed the sensitive wipes as my son gets nappy rash alot as his skin is sensitive.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

No i was very happy with wipes and nappies.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Good price cheaper than other makes but quality is still good.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

yes 100% both wipes and nappies

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would recommend becuse i was very impresses, and i think more parents need to know that it is worth switching.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel? They fit extremely well, which I was pleasantly surprised at as DD is very tall, but slim.
They also felt quite 'substantial' - some nappies I have bought in the past felt quite thin.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks? No leaks, and as they actually stayed up I would say they worked better than other brands we have tried previously.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging? I can't say I ever thought about the packaging or read the information, it was fine.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do? I didn't like the smell of the green wipes, but with both of the wipes I liked the fact that you could get one wipe out without 3 or 4 sticking together. I'm sure I used less as a result.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what? Just a small niggle, but the plastic opening on the wipes had really sharp corners - I scratched myself on them half a dozen times when getting the wipes out of the packaging. When DD was younger I used to give her the wipes to distract her when changing her - I would hesitate to do that with this packaging.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not? Very good value.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not? I would definitely use the nappies and wipes again, but our only Aldi is currently a 15 minute drive away. New store opens up the road in a couple of weeks though - so I will go and stock up then.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes? I would recommend both with no hesitation.

We used the Junior nappies on DD who is 2

DD is 1.1 years, we used the Midis

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

They fitted very well, and felt comfortable. DD has just started walking, and she's able to toddle very well in these. I think DD knew we were trialling this week, as we've had toxic poos galore! She is prone to nappy rash at the moment, but she's had minimal rash and has gone down very quickly. This isn't always the case in more expensive brands

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

Nope, perfect record every time. DD tried her hardest to shoot a cracker up her back, but her efforts were in vain!

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Um, didn't really look at the info, sorry. I liked the brand name, and thought the colouring was similar to Pampers. DH had the pack whipped open in no time, and the nappies stowed in our nappy drawer, so they must have been pretty easy to open!

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I usually use sensitive wipes with DD, and I think I'll stick with them. I found the fragranced ones far too scented - I think they smell worse than the nappy! But they're good and moist all the way through. I haven't had to use more or less wipes, but I find the plastic sealer thingy annoying as it's ruddy hard to open it when you first use it, and then later on DD manages to get it open by herself and voila, I have wipes for sofa-throws... Hmm

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Not so much perfume on the regular wipes, and improve the plastic stopper thingy (or take it away altogether). DH nearly managed to put one of the nappies on backwards as he wasn't expecting to see a picture on the back of the nappy either...

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I think they're both very good value for money.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

We do occasionally shop at Aldi, but I never thought to get nappies from there - I will in future. I will use the sensitive wipes again, but not the fragranced ones, unless they amend the strength of the scent.

Q8 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes and yes. They've both performed well, and are good value for money, so I have no reason not to recommend them.

Apologies, we used the Maxi nappies, not the Midis

DD is 18 months old with chubby legs and big Buddha belly. We used the 4+Maxi, I believe.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

Thought they were fantastic - like I said, DD has chubby thighs and a big tum so not always easy to stop the stick on straps from pinging off. These seemed very comfy although if I were to buy again it would be the next size up as they will soon be too tight!

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

No leaks and all night dryness. Smashing.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Can't say I noticed the packaging TBH, other than it was green. Unless you mean the nappies themselves which were covered in animals and look very sweet wrapped round a bottom.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The Non-fragranced wipes are brilliant, not too wet and nice and strong. The Fragranced wipes are really overpowering and because DD has very sensitive, eczema prone skin it put me off using them. We use them for hands and feet now, and occasionally on her dolls.
Would definitely use NF again, very handy. (Although DP had to open pack for me as found plastic seal very stiff )

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Change fragrance of Fragranced wipes to something less chemical smelling. Otherwise, fab.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Yup, brilliant. They are Half the Price of what we normally pay.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I will, but only - as another tester has said - when I can get to our Aldi which is a bus ride away and not terribly convenient to get to with baby as well. I also use their skincare range so may be able to leave baby with DP once a week and buy it all together ?

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I already have recommended them to three of my friends with smaller babies than mine. I think they are brilliant value for money.

Baby age 7 months Nappies Midi size 3

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
Was impressed with the nappies, felt nice and soft not scratchy like some nappies! They were a good fit.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
I found them very absorbant and no leaks. I normally use Huggies.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Packaging is and attractive and found information adequate, bit thin though so could break easily. Easy to open.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
Very impressied with wipes and definately buy again, used less than normal brand. I was not keen on fragranced wipes, although they smelt lovely I prefer non fragranced for babies skin. Liked the lid on top of the wipes but was a bit stiff to open!

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Lid on wipes needs to be improved as hard to open. Packaging on nappies could be a bit stronger. I thought fragranced wipes were too strong.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
I think they are excellent value for money, much lower than my normal brand. Im suprised at the cost of the wipes, much cheaper than I though they would be! so good value for money.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
I would use the nappies again as they will be saving me money and are comparable with the ones I normally use . I will be going out this week to buy some of the sensitive wipes as I was very happy with the quality and cost.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I will be recommending the wipes and nappies to other friends with babies because it will save them some money and both are a good product. Not many people are aware that Aldi sell nappies and wet wipes!

DD2 is 3 months old and is in size 3

  1. I liked the look. DD is long and thin so they fit ok- but when shes been asleep they get loose (her tummy shrinks) and she'll have a wee leak, not bulky and looked fine- I would say I would make it a bit more obvious the front and back Blush.
  2. compared well- yet still leaked (ebf baby with runny poo's so not suprised)
  3. fine packaging, good info
  4. really like sensative wipes- not too wet- this is good as prevents rash. I didnt like the smell of the fragrenced ones. Liked the fastening lids. Used less wipes than usual- so very good!
5)I would make the distinction between front and back clearer, I would also encorporate a handle to the pack- enabling them to be hung on the trolley so you can fit the food in easier and you dont need to buy a seperate carrier then
  5. Adi nappies r v good value as are the wipes
    7)I have already reccommended them!

DS is 2yrs and 5 months old. We switched to both products about a month ago. We use Mamia Size 5 (Junior) with the unscented wipes Thanks Thanks

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

They fit DS perfectly, in fact they are the best fit we have found and we have tried pampers, huggies, sainsbo's, asda, tesco......
They are a little thinner than the usual supermarket brands, and DS loves the lion pictures on the nappies Smile

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

As above i find them much better than the others. Particularly at night, they seem to be the only ones that dont leak at night, and that was a biggie for us as we had problems with all of the above brands. We were chuffed to bits when we found these!

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

I dont actually read the info (just look for the size). But the packaging is nice and colorful and easy to open.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I havent yet used the fragranced wipes but the unscented ones are fine. I do find that i use less than the sainsbo's or asda ones so they are good value for money. The only criticism i would give would be that the lid is difficult to open, it is quite tight.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The lid on the wipes could be a bit easier to open. Other than that i have no other suggestions.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Yes i do think they are good value for money. Certainly in comparison to the other supermarket brands.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, we have been using them for about a month now and are very happy with them, both the nappies and the wipes are good value for money and very effective. I find the absorbency of the nappies just brilliant, even if DS has a 'heavy' wee nappy there are rarely any leaks (and if there are then it is my fault for not changing him sooner Blush )

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Already have done! On two occasions in the last month (on both products)

All in all they are both excellent value for money, thank you! Thanks Smile

Thank you for selecting us to take part in the trial. DD3 is 17 months, tall but very slim - we used the 4/4+ Maxi nappies.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

These nappies fitted really well, and seemed to stay in place without leaving any elastic marks along the inside of her thighs, the way that Other Brands have been known to do. I was surprised at how soft they felt, and was initially concerned that they wouldn?t be sufficiently absorbent, as they felt a bit thinner than the brand we normally use, but that hasn?t been the case at all.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

Surprisingly well. I?ve always wimped out of trying non-branded nappies in the past, for fear of the consequences. Now I feel extremely foolish for spending heaps of money completely unnecessarily. If anything, these nappies have been better than the Other Brand I normally buy ? we have had no leakage issues at all, even when faced with industrial-scale poo, and no nappy rash or soreness, either. Well done Aldi!!

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

I was initially confused, and thought we had been sent Pampers, due to the colour of the packaging. I didn?t really look at the packaging at the time (who does?!), but I?ve checked it out now?.the baby picture is fine, but overall its far too ?busy?: too many cartoons/colours/fonts?.I think most parents know what to do with a nappy, and don?t need pictures to demonstrate ?stretchiness? and so on. Opening the packet was fine ? we always load up the changing unit with a whole pack?s worth, so no issues with storage.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

Opening the wipes took a little more force than usually required ? is there a way to make the sticky closing stuff a bit easier to unpeel? DD has sensitive skin and has been fine with the sensitive wipes but I haven?t risked the normal ones for nappy changing. We did use them a few times for hands/face/general cleanups but none of us like the smell ? is it possible to make them unscented?

Overall, the wipes are fine. I find them a bit ?dry? but they are nice and strong, separate easily (so you don?t end up with 20 at a time!), and do the job nicely. I probably use one or two more than usual due to the dryness?but DD does seem to be doing particularly sticky poos at the moment, so that might be the main driver for increased wipe usage!

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

Reduce or change the perfume on the normal wipes

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I?m stunned! The nappies represent excellent value?.having children is so hideously expensive, it?s a relief to find some cost-cutting solutions which don?t involve a quality compromise?! I volunteered for the trial because I have never had the nerve to make the switch to non-branded nappies but have been completely bowled over by how well these compare to the branded alternative.

I?m not quite so keen on the wipes, although DH likes them. I normally buy the Tesco ones (99p/pack) when they are on BOGOF, which compare well on the price front.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I intend to stock up on the nappies as and when I can get to an Aldi, and will definitely pre-purchase pull-up pants at the same time, ahead of toilet training DD in a few months time. Sadly, the nearest Aldi is some distance away, and DH has pointed out that any savings will be lost in petrol costs if I make a journey there and back for nappies alone. Perhaps Aldi need an online presence?!

As I said above, I prefer the Tesco sensitive wipes, but I would definitely buy the Aldi ones again if I was in the store.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I would definitely recommend the nappies ? in fact, I already have, as several of my friends have been trying various own-branded nappies recently but hadn?t thought of trying the Aldi ones. I think they represent great value for money, with no compromise on quality....which sounds like the sort of thing adverts always tell you, and you think 'yeah, right'...but is surprisingly true in this case!

DS is 20 months, and was just over 28lbs last time he was weighed. We used Mamia Junior Nappies.

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I like the way the nappies feel - soft and not too thick. They fit snugly around DS's tummy, but I found that they hang much lower than his usual nappies (Pampers BabyDry), and they are prone to gaping around his legs.

I really like the design on the nappies - the little animals are sweet, and they kept DS entertained while I dealt with the unpleasant side of nappy changing (can you point to the elephant? giraffe? etc).

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

DS started a course of antibiotics shortly before starting the test, which predictably resulted in some very runny poos. He hasn't had a leaky nappy since he was around 5 months old, but 3 of the Aldi nappies did leak. To be fair though, the poos were hugely explosive, and the Pampers nappy that he was wearing just before we switched to the Aldi nappies also leaked. Once DS's poo was back to normal, the Aldi nappies were fine - no leaks. They were fine with wee too.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packet opened easily enough, but not very neatly. It was fine. The info on the packaging seems clear, but I've never really paid much attention to the info on other nappy packaging before so I don't know how it compares.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

The wipes were good. They were thick enough, and they didn't cause any irritation. I have to be careful about what products I use/handle because I'm allergic to certain ingredients that are commonly found in toiletries. Both types of wipes were fine for me to use.

I did think that I may have used more wipes than usual though as they seemed a little smaller and drier.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

When I first saw the nappy packaging, I did think that the nappy in the photo on the front looked a bit odd and bulky, which put me off. After trying them on DS, and finding that the nappy hung quite low around the legs, I realised that the photo was fairly accurate.

I found the wipes quite difficult to open initially - I really had to fight with the packet.

This is really only relevant for newborn nappies, rather than the nappies I trialled, and it will out me as a complete dunce, but when DS was born I knew absolutely nothing about babies, let alone changing their nappies. A couple of hints or tips on the packet would have been appreciated, because DH and I were useless!

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

Both the wipes and nappies are competitively priced, offering good value for money.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

I would probably use the wipes again. I'm not sure about the nappies, due to the fit around the legs. I have a few left over which I may try again in a month or two.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

I don't think I'd recommend the nappies, but I wouldn't talk someone else out of trying them - the nappies may fit their child better. I would recommend the wipes.

I have a 2year old who tried the mamia comfy up pants, size 5.
1.) Overall impression was good. They looked slightly bigger in size than the ones we normally use, which are also a size 5, but looked thinner. They fit my son fine and felt soft inside.
2.) Compared to pull ups we normally, were slightly longer (in length), but were thinner. They did the job fine. Had a leak once in the night, but the pull up wasnt full of wee, so think it was more to do with position of nappy, as my son is a fidgeter in his sleep, but this has never happened with pull ups we normally use.
3.)nappy packaging was good, told you all you needed to know on packet, was easy to open.
4.) wipes were fine to use, found them less moist than wipes we normally use, so had to use more wipes than normally would. no difference between sensitive and non, except the fragrance in the non sensitive ones.
5.) would make the wipes slightly more moist, and absorbant part of pull ups thicker.
6.) wipes are great value, price is brilliant, and price for pull ups are really good. both good value for money, for what you get, compared to other brands ive used.
7.) wouldnt use the wipes again, not moist enough. would use the nappies again, for the sheer price and did the job.

I've been trying these with my ds who is 3.5, I have no idea what he weighs.
Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I thoguht the size 5s we were given were actually more on a par with the size 6s he normally wears from Tesco or Pampers. They feel no different to the Tesco ones, and he likes the pictures on them.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

We've been trying less expensive brands as hopefully ds will be potty trained soon. I had been popping into Wilkinsons every few weeks to see what was on offer, and have tried both Pampers and Huggies from there. I prefered the Pampers overall. I tried Wilkinsons own one week, which are the same price as these Aldi ones, and they were beyond useless, constant leaks after one wee. My overall preferred pull ups had been Tesco size 6s, but they very recently seem to have made them just a bit narrower, and as as result tear when I try and fit them on. Out of a choice of the Aldi nappies and the Pampers nappies, I am happy to buy the Aldi ones from now on, they're about half the price and just as good. We use them in the day and overnight, no leaks so far.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

Easy to open, and nice looking packet. They don't look as cheap as they are.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I am a skinflint and have been using Morrisons basic babywipes for a while now, which come in at about 23p for apacket of 72. I have no problem with these, they are much nicer than other basic ones (Tesco and Sainsburys are both ridiculously thin) and do the job. The Aldi ones were nicer, the scented ones, which I wouldn't normally buy, don't have an overpowering scent and haven't irritated ds's dry skin. I have used about the same as I normally would I think, but purely on the price I will continue to buy the mOrrisons ones. However, I do think that once my new baby arrives I'll give these another go, I think they'd be great for a newborn.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

I found the lid on the wipes a little stiff to open, but that's because I'm used to a simple stick down packet. If anything, I'd like to see a size 6 included in the range.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I think they're very good value, and will buy all again.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes, I will continue to buy the nappies for ds, and will buy both nappies and wipes to try again in Spring when our new baby is born. Both are good value for money, and having switched to shopping at Aldi every few weeks already it's not out of my way at all.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes, I think they're good value for money. I've already converted several people to Aldi because of the savings on food, now I can also recommend the nappies and wipes :)

DS is 26 months and we trialled the size 4+ nappies.
Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
First impression was OK. I didn't particularly like the animal print, but DS did! They fit perfectly (DS is long and skinny) and he seemed comfortable in them.
Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
Excellent performance compared to other brands. Didn't feel quite as 'soft' as our usuals (Sainsbury's eco), but we have been leak and rash free since trialling.
Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
Yes, easy to open and whole packaging comparable with other brands.
Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
We don't normally use disposable wipes, so can't really compare with other brands. However, I really didn't like the fragranced ones - strong smells make me think they're very 'chemically'. I felt that the wipes did not perform as well as our washables and felt very wasteful.
Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Definitely lose the fragrance on the wipes. Other than that, I thought they were fine.
Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Compared with other disposable brands, I think they're really good value for money. As a mainly washables user though, I still balk at the cost of disposable nappies. Have just noticed today that Huggies wipes are £2.50 (!) per pack, so Aldi wipes definitely compare well with that.
Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
Yes, I'll definitely use the nappies again as I think they performed really well for the price. Wipes were good and cheap, but I really don't like disposable wipes so we'll stick to washables.
Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
I'd definitely recommend the nappies as I think that big brand nappies are a total rip-off. People seem frightened to move away from the 'big two' so it's nice to be able to offer an alternative. I'd also recommend the wipes on the basis that they are so much cheaper than the big brands.

We were kindly chosen to try the Comfy Up Pants for my DS (3.3)

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

They fit him really well, we have only tried one other brand of pull ups (can't for the life of me remember which now) and they were baggy as DS is so skinny but these fitted great. I liked how thin they were as nappies can be bulky and they were easy to get on and off (we are potty training)

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

They fit better than the other pull ups i'd tried, and there were absolutley no leaks at all even overnight.

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

It was clearly presented and bright and colourful, and easy to open.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I thought the wipes were really good quality and very thick so I didn't need to use many at all. I'm not brand loyal to wipes at all, I tend to buy what's on offer and if none are on offer, I buy the cheapest (23p Morrisons!) so these felt better than cheap ones but also these are still nearly 20p cheaper than Tesco ones and felt much thicker (which is better). The only real difference between the two we trialed was the scent on the normal ones which was fine.

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?

The plastic packaging on the wipes was a bit difficult to get into on one of my packs of wipes but nothing else springs to mind at all.

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?

I don't have a lot of experience of buying pull ups but the price seems ok to me.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?

Yes I would use both the nappies and wipes again.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?

Yes I would recommend both the nappies and the wipes, I have plenty of friends who have small children who use both and would happily recommend them.

Ive been using size 5 nappies with DD2 who weighs, quite a lot less than she did 10 days ago because of a virus, somethign less than 12.8kg

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?

I really like them. They felt nice and soft and fitted DD well.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?

I have tried other nappy brands, Pampers impressed me the least with the rash they caused, but much prefer Aldi nappies. A good fit and no leaks yet!

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?

The packaging was 'ok', nothing special but certainly not offensive. I'm not so keen on the green but i can recognise it as a gender neural colour. I didnt actually read the info, once id established that the size was right, if iwas in a shop I certainly wouldn't read the packaging.

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?

I thought the wipes were good, possibly a bit thicker than Sainsbo's own brand that i prefer.

Excellent value for money. Nappies can be so expensive, and given the quality of these I think they offer good value.

I have already recommended nappies to a colleague at work because they offer really excellent value for money. Normally you get what you pay for, but in this case I think you get more than you pay for.

DS is 2 month old, used size 3 nappies

Q1 What was your overall impression of Aldi nappies? Did they fit your baby/child? How did they feel?
Good first impressions. They fit DS fine (he's huge, size of a 3-4 month old at least) and feel soft.

Q2 How did they compare with other nappies you've used? Did they do the job they were intended for? Any leaks?
They are comparable with other nappies I've used (and I've used most of them!). They've been fine over night - not had to change them - but they have leaked the occasional poo. But every type of nappy I have ever used has struggled to cope with those spectacular poos!

Q3 What did you think of the nappy packaging? Was it easy or difficult to open? What about the information on the packaging?
I didn't particularly notice the packaging - they look like nappies! I did appreciate they had a handle on the top so I could carry them easily. Pack opened easily. I didn't read the info on the pack, this is my third child I don't have time or inclination ;)

Q4 How did you find the wipes to use? Did you notice any difference between the normal and sensitive skin wipes? Did you find you had to use more, less or the same amount of wipes as you usually do?
I liked the click-shut closure on the wipes, but it took me a long time to open them the first time. I like the wipes, they are thick and smell better than others I've used. I've used about the same as other wipes (tesco/sainsbury own brands)

Q5 Is there anything about the nappies, wipes or packaging that you think could be improved? If so, what?
Make sure the opening on the wipes opens easily!

Q6 We've included some info on how much Aldi nappies cost below - do you think that they're good value for money or not? Why? And how about the wipes - do you think they're good value or not?
Definitely good value for money, much cheaper than Tesco/Sainsbury own brands I tend to use, let alone Pampers/Huggies, and they worked equally as well for me. Wipes also good value, more similar in price to Tesco/Sainsbury own brand, but work as well.

Q7 Do you think you'll use the nappies again? What about the wipes? If so, why? If not, why not?
Will probably use them again - I do professionally shop in Aldi and will try and remember to buy nappies/wipes when I do.

Q7 If it came up in conversation, do you think you'd recommend Aldi nappies to other parents of children or babies in nappies? If so, why? If not, why not? And would you recommend the wipes?
Would definitely recommend both.
