100 rolls

Not a 'classic thread' title but I remember one of the funniest things I ever read on here was in a "do yuo give your DH a shopping list" discussion, from someone who gave their DH a shopping list including "loo rolls" and he came back with a hundred (bread) rolls.

I mean, why would he ask? She knows what she wants 100 rolls for, right? Probably having a mums' barbecue or something and needs them for hot-dogs.

Who was it?

my ex-dp once came back with a troll (like a little gonk thingy)
because I had asked for t rolls i.e. toilet rolls.
he said he had to go to three shops before he found one they were pretty popular at that time in fairness and he was a MAthmetician

I sent dh to shops for cottage cheese (among other things) and he came back with 10 large tubs!!! Expiry date - 2 days away!!!

I was giving them away to everyone who called round! People simply don't expect to come round for a coffee and leave with a tub of cottage cheese.

I don't know what the thread was on here, but I was at my best friend's house a while ago when her husband came in with the shopping. He started unloading several dozen rolls of all kinds (large floury, soft bap, wholemeal etc etc, then, as we watched in fascinated amazement, assorted loaves including sliced Danish, rye, and mother's pride...because the supermarket didn't have 100 rolls and he figured bread would do.

I sent DH to buy food for DS1's birthday party. For fruit I listed strawberries, grapes and melon. He came back with strawberries, melon, raspberries (mouldy), pineapple (fresh), apples, pears, cherries and apricots. Plus olives. FFS!
