Wow, we have a new thread already?

Summary: OP is being TOTALLY REASONABLE and some wankbadgers have been imposing 2 horses on her since she bought her dream home. She's very politely asked them to leave and one woman is having a total PA drama about it. UW also uses OP's shed, parks on her drive and lets her dogs shit in the garden. We also had stacking goats, a MN festival and much mention of flash mobs/offers of Northumbrian bagpipes.

What have I missed?

Report
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 22/01/2014 14:45

Oh, the water. I forgot that UW is using water that OP pays for. And that she moved a second horse in to keep the first one company. Neither horse is broken and one is a socking great stallion (although at c.30 yo might peg out soon, perhaps with a bit of assistance from the vet/local hunt).

I'm already packing the campervan, given it's reliability it will take until March to get there

Firmly in the Chris camp with a reminder her new slogan is JUST SAY NO

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 22/01/2014 14:53

I do think the old MN classic phrase
"Fuck you and the horse you rode in on"
fits this scenario beautifully.

Delurking to offer a jazz group for the festival and a bunch of teens who would enjoy helping to turn your field into a wildflower meadow and a better habitat for wildlife than it will currently be Grin they would also be quite happy to help with the stallion if needed and well practiced at chopping wood if you want any doing.

Chris, you seem to accept that the unreasonable horse rescuer, who is in control of the group, has declared war. There must be a good chance that she's not looking for a home for the stallion, and just trying to find free grazing for her own horse.

If you ignore her recent nonsense with parking and general attitude, it may be at your peril. How do you feel about taking the recent advice to say "ok I'll deal with the stallion, you have 2 weeks to sort yourself out, and the water is off." Playing nice doesn't seem to be working. She doesn't seem able to say "thanks for a, b and c." Only "you are awful for x, y, z!" Do you really think she'll do anything that is for your benefit?

Grin look at you lot getting comfy already!

Shoom, I'm happy (?!) to take a passive role for a bit. I want to see if they actually do what we've told them to. I'm going to let their words wash over me and watch what they do. I'm hoping the pettiness will get boring for them very soon.

Whenever I see them I'm going to smile and wave.

With great serenity.

DS (8) likes hitting things so I'm sure he would help out with the drums in any group that would have him... sings 'born to be wild' and plays air guitar (or uke actually) rather well too. Grin

Briefly de-lurking again. As you were Grin.

Hmm... I think you need to be prepared to take action though. Sitting back and being passive might result in her continuing to use your drive/water/shed, etc and you'll be no further along with all this in a few weeks than you were when you moved in. Because so far they haven't done what you've told them to do. Perhaps the Saturday shed deadline (shedline?) will tell you more about whether your approach is going to work...

Shroom, I reckon so :) we'll have a few answers by Sunday.

Did i mention that the previous owners left a lot of gardening tools. The second time we met horse lady she said "ex owner promised to leave me some tools in the end shed but he hasn't...", we smiled sweetly and said "oh really?"

How did she think she could walk into someone's new home and demand things the previous owners may have left?

Dd is at ballet school (perhaps the festival could incorporate some culture)

Ah, so she already thinks you've thieved from her.... you haven't, needless to say, but she probably thinks you have. This may have added to The Crazy.

I ought to be completing an assignment. On the plus side, learning about fly grazing could help it.
