Kids eye views of the Royal Wedding.

So, we're sat here watching the Royal Wedding. As Kate was stood in the abbey, being straightened out, DS said "Mummy, the princess wants to sit down". He now thinks they're going to have a party where they drink fruit shoots and coke... Hmm

Meanwhile, my youngest niece (aged 6) thinks Princess Diana has come back from the dead. She's also informed her parents that she wants her wedding to be exactly the same... Grin

Anyone else had any corkers from their kids today?

I asked the children in my class (4 & 5 year olds) why people get married. One child answered "Well if you really really love someone you HAVE to marry them...if you want to." [cgrin]

Another child, on entering the hall where we were having a 'royal wedding banquet lunch' saw a picture of Kate and Will and said "Oh look! It's them guys that are getting married!"
What a coincidence [chmm] [csmile]

Mrsfred, I'm glad DS didn't notice. He would have had a fit! (he gets upset if there's no seatbelts on the bus, even)

Not this wedding, I know, but "Why's she dragging that curtain?" wondered DS when watching old footage of Diana walking up the aisle on her wedding day.

DS (3.3yo) "have they finished yet?" when the bridal procession enters the church.
"Daddy I like that singing, can I sing like that?" commenting on the boys' choir!

Why didn't everyone laugh, clap and cry like at Aunty xxxxxx's wedding (my (only) sister, a few months ago). And the most beautiful wedding I've ever been at, I love my sister and BIL very much.

If she is a princess, why isn't the dress pink??
We're not that in to pink, and don't watch that much Disney, but I am aware of the impression it has now!

Me - ds this is a very rare and historical event, the marriage of our future king.

DS - this is rare too, boomerang only show Scooby Doo twice a day Hmm

We'll watch some highlights later......

From Jodi Picoult's twitter...

Me to Sammy, re: #royalwedding: "Look at the carriage. Isn't it like a fairytale?" Sammy: "No, that would be a PUMPKIN."

See? Even award winning author's kids have classic lines Grin

DD, aged 3, was most interested in the horses pulling the carriages, and what they were going to have for their lunch (and whether they would eat it out of a gold bucket) after they had finished the tedious process of conveying the Royal family back to Buckingham Palace.

She also asked excitedly where the whales were every time Prince Charles appeared, and has now decided they were all in the bath inside the palace.

My 4 yo told me this morning that she didn't want to go to a wedding. Just as well she wasn't invited, she's been a PITA all morning Grin

She was also concerned about the lack of seat-belts.
