went to disney store today for my daughter and hey have teeny weeney bikinis for 4 yr olds.... bloody disgusting... proper string ones with just triangles for their nipples.
i felt sick... clothes like that are way out of a 4 year olds league.... are they able to go on the campaign list?!
thanks

We have photos of my dsis and I, on the beach in France aged about 4 & 6 wearing those sorts of bikinis. I should think they were probably from ClothKits but I don't think they were inappropriate. 4 year old girls have nothing to cover up.

We used to spend most of our time running around in just a pair of bikini bottoms. No one batted an eyelid, we weren't targetted by paedophiles and I think the worst issue we faced was being over exposed to the sun.

If you mean this type of thing, I don't see how that's sexualising a young child. It's covering them up, it's not 'sexy', it has a child's cartoon picture on, it's not padded or trying to make them into mini adults. I'm not entirely sure what you're getting so het up about, tbh. If it was see-through with Playboy bunnies on then, yes but it's just a bikini and little girls have always worn bikinis like that.

I object to it on aesthetic principles.

Because it's tacky, Dolly? I agree with that. Dd won't be having one for that reason but a similar style without the horrible Disney images would be fine, imo.

Mine was red and white stripes, iirc. No Disney characters in sight.

olihan, just clicked on your link, it was smaller than that..... my point is this... i would rather my daughter run around topless and not look like a baby prostitute than wear something that looks like a smaller version of something jourdan would wear!
i was refering to the hannah montana stuff and a mini mouse one that was literally triangles with string like an adults one. it was stripy.
i dont think its wearing this is appropriate for little girls especially as it also leads to body consious issues.
