To mark the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day on 8 March, the charity Women for Women (which helps women survivors of war to rebuild their lives) is organising a global campaign called Join Me on the Bridge.
Women in war-torn countries are joining together on bridges to symbolise peace and hope, and they are being joined in solidarity by women all across the world.
There are 91 bridge events happening worldwide and 14 in the UK, from Sussex to Inverness; to find the one nearest you, go here.
The biggest is on the Millennium Bridge (AKA 'the wobbly bridge') in London on Monday 8 March; the procession will leave Victoria Embankment Gardens at 10.45am, and will be joined by Sarah Brown. The march will be followed by a women's festival on the Southwark side of the bridge.
If you can't make it to any of the bridge events, there are other things you could do:
hold your own 'bridge' event with your friends and upload photos and video footage to the website; or buy a unique T-shirt by British woman designers (including Alice Temperley, Bella Freud, Betty Jackson, Tamara Mellon and Nicole Farhi) from www.net-a-porter.com, available from Monday.
