hi - i dont have triplets but there are a couple of mums who do - and welcome to mumsnet.
i have twins and an older one. my advise would be to get into a routine.
my routine is - home from school change out of uniform and hang it up ( this is so i dont have to wash and iron again the next day)
do a snack - sugar levels will be low since 12.30 dinner for little people - so a sandwich of something and some fruit.
get letters and homework from school bags.
if you have to do 5 mins reading with each of them you are going to have to occupy the other two - i think colouring books are a good idea
and remember - its a fine balance - whilst not wanting to usurp the authority of the teacher - you must MUST MUST make family life come first. if all you can do is half the homework - then make the effort if poss to see the teacher and say - i did what i could with the children but i wasn't prepared to have an unhappy family over it- i hope you understand
remember when frustrated that teachers have a skill - they have been trained to teach and you have not so dont be too hard on yourself.
FINALLY a couple of things
have regular places for things for the children - so the book bags always go on ...... in our house school stuff is stacked on the window sil in the dining room.
velcro shoes are a god send
sew names into the LINING of expensive coats that way any thief -unwitting or otherwise cannot remove it before you can make sure its yours or not -a s they wont know!
always put up the little "good work" certificates that they have from teachers - i put them on the living room door - by the end of the year it is full of their achievements and looks fab!
PLEASE - get a notice board or place to pin letters from school
they should get a diary of things to come in the year - a year is so long - you will love it - cellotape it to door! - if you have loads of time type it out on computer.
and ASK the school if they are in the 21st century yet
some schools actually send you e-mails about forthcoming stuff - and i find that is ultimatley better than relying on children to tell you they have to dress as a book character tomorrow moring with no pissin notice
good luck
