Multiple births

Intro and what's it like having "just the one" after twins?

Hi there, have lurked around for a while and posted on a few threads but too shy to join in the multiples ones before now
DH and I have two wonderful 2.2yr DDs and have just found out I am slightly unexpectedly pregnant with our third (or perhaps third and fourth - you never know!)
I am mostly hoping it is just one in there this time as I would love to have the experience of having one baby, though the crazy part of me thinks how fantastic and special it would be to have another set of twins .
Just wanted to ask for experiences from those who have had 'singletons' after their twins and how you found it? Sorry to use inverted commas - one of my friends joked that I once used the term in a derogatory fashion - was not intentional if I did but, ha ha payback at last for all the "double trouble, hands full, rather you than me" stuff
Anyway would be really interested to hear any experiences, anecdotes or words of wisdom and look forward to being a more regular poster in future.

Welcome!! Sorry cant help you as have had 5 singletons(though only a year between the last 2, does that count?!) but wanted to say congratulations. I do think you will be one of the lucky ones though- you'll wonder what we are all moaning about having one at a time!! Good luck

jump in to the " "D'y ever wonder.." thread - there are some on there who have done it your way round - I can't really comment - I have my singleton first.

Oooh, I'd like to know this too, I am planning another pregnancy, my DTS are 6. Like you, HHS, wouldn't mind another set of twins too!

As throck says, pop in to the D'y ever.....thread. We'll all budge up the couch for you and let you sit in the recliner since you're new in our house

I had my singelton first as well but Harrogatemum has just had a baby after her DTs (slightly bigger gap I think). A friend of mine loved having a singleton after her DTs, she said the world opened out and she found she could go almost anywhere, anytime.

Two sets of twins......... yikes!!!

Hi Hammerhead
We have just had our dd who is 11 weeks and have 4 yr old twins already(boys). Its great! The freedom with a single buggy - the lack of "inane comments"you know the ones..although in a sad sick way I kind of miss that too - being able to spend some quality time with your newborn instead of the twin factory syndrome..I could go on (but wont!)
My boys have just started school so I am blessed with some free time in the week - come the summer hols I could be less positive!
I have to say though there was a tiny moment of disappointment when we found it was "only one" this time, but we came to our senses in time...
